Due to leave in five weeks and was wondering can we make requests, ie which floor and which block we would like to stay in.

Not sure if want to stay near the pool/main building or face DTD.

If we can when is it best to make these and would it be better by email or phone.

Cheers

We tend to make requests when bookingm so you should definately do it now. I have never stayed at SSR so can't help with which requests to suggest :)

I try and keep requests a bit vague as I have heard you have more chance of getting them then :)

For example, rather than saying Block 16 floor 5 or whatever, I say "High floor, pool view" (for example).

I love the Congress Park area at SSR (especially if you can get a DTD view) but the Springs is very handy for the pool & Carriage House. I would think either would be great :thumbsup2 depending on what your priorities are.

Miffy2003,

what's in the carriage building, is this the main building.

How many pools are there, never been yet and just a little over excited at the mo.

What is the transportation like, is there a timetable ie every 15 mins, to the parks.

Hi Princess,

All the different areas have a "quiet" (ie non themed) pool, except the Springs which is so close to the main pool this "counts" as the pool for this area (does that make sense?). There are two quiet pools open, one in the Congress Park area (with a fabulous DTD view) and the other in the Paddock (I think that's what it's called, it's the newest section).

Yes the Carriage House is up some steps from the main pool and is the building that houses check in & guest services, the food court, the shop and the bar.

The buses run to the same timetable as the other resorts. We usually found a bus came after 5 or 10 minutes though on one occasion we did wait 30 minutes for a bus to MK. The really good thing at the moment with the buses is that because the resort is not yet finished, we found the buses extremely uncrowded in comparison with the other resort buses we had been on that holiday (CBR, BWV & AKL).

When I was there they were trialling a new children's activity - something to do with being a Chef and making pizza?? It sounded like fun but it clashed with something else we were doing so we gave it a miss.

DDs love the main pool with waterslides :) There is a very small one which my youngest DD preferred as it meany she didn't get submerged :)

Make sure you check out Community Hall and look at the cativity sheet you are given at check in - there were quizzes, a pool party and a few other things which were great fun :thumbsup2

SSR is a really beautiful resort and I love the DTD location. We enjoyed catching the boat to OKW once to swim in their pool (cool slide) and have a meal at Olivia's :thumbsup2 The children really liked the play area at OKW and we enjoyed a cocktail ;)

If you have any questions please ask away. I'm no expert but I've stayed there twice now so I will try and help :)

Hi,
We have been DVC members for almost six years and I can't remember a single time we got our requests, in fact we usually end up with the exact opposite. We have checked in at different times of the day on each trip but still didn't make any difference. My opinion is that requests are ignored and it is pure luck if you happen to get what you request. I might just be unlucky but I don't let it spoil my holiday.

Mick.

:smooth:

Thanks miffy2003,

Does the carriage have studios, we are staying in a studio.

I have butterflies now so excited.

was the cooking for kids in the afternoon or later in the day?

DD loves to cook.

Yes there are studios in all the areas :)

I really can't remember about the chef thing, I am so sorry!

I have just received an email from Disney, as requested an lower floor in the carriage area,

And they say they have noted our requests :cool1:

I know they can not be guaranteed but fingers crossed
