Can we make more than one reservation for the same day/time?

My mom, sister and I are taking a girls trip in September. All three of us would like to call at 7am to try increase our chances of getting the reservations we want. This could leave us with three reservations for each restaurant (if we are lucky) or several reservations for one meal. Of course once we get off the phone we will call each other and decide which we will keep and cancel the others right away, but I'm wondering if we are even allowed to do this. With the new system, will they know one of us has already made a reservation for a certain day/time and not allow additional reservations? Do they ask for your reservation #, or can we each just make them under our own names and they won't know the difference? Any advice on a better way to do this or has anyone done this with the new system?

If you are staying on-site, you'll have to give your reservation number. Your ADR's will be tied to it.

If you really want something, I think having several people call will increase your chances. I think the new system will allert the CM that you already have a ADR at that time. When you give the CM your ADR request, I'd just say that a couple of you are trying at the same time.

If it doesn't and you get more than 1 ADR, then just cancel the unneeded one(s) as you've indicated.

There are a few ADR's that are really "hot", but for the most part, you should get what you want. I got everything (including La Cellier) at 7am 90 days ahead. I was on hold for 40 minutes, too.

Yes, they specifically ask for your resort reservation number and yes they will know if something is already booked for that day.

My thinking on this is, if three of you make ressies at the same time, that's two ressies being taken needlessly (even if it's just till you decide which one to keep).

This could prevent two other people from getting ressies at all because you've eaten up 2 extras.

Food for thought. I know I wouldn't feel right doing that.

I would agree. Just imagine if someone misses taking their child to a special birthday dinner because now there are no tables available- not everyone would think to call back later. If a few minutes is really enough to make a difference in availability, that could happen; if a few minutes is not enough to make a difference, then there is not really a need for 3 people to be calling in. In either case, that means 2 people will wait longer in the phone queue.

I personally would take my chances with one person calling- if we miss out on something, then so be it; if it's something really important, we'd keep trying. In most cases, I don't think ADR's are worth the frenzy that we all sometimes make them out to be.

But it's up to you. Good luck whatever you decide.
