Purchase The Annual Park Passes??? Does This Also Allow Free Parking At The Parks??

Thanks For Your Help

Yes lots of us buy them in UK.
You get free parking, discounts off special event tickets, hotel discounts if you stay onsite, discounts off purchases at some shops, and discounts off some food.
Sometimes its worth just buying 1 in the family to get the perks, we prefer to all have them.
You can buy them and do Will Call(collect them there) this service is free.

If you stay on site and book direct with Disney for your hotel room, at certain times of year they release "reduced" prices for people with an Annual Pass. This is subject to availability (ie when the AP rate rooms at a certain resort are sold out, they are sold out.)

I'm not very up to date with the discounts these days but I think it's still in the region of about 20% off rack rate.

If you are staying on site you get free parking anyway so the annual pass doesn't give you an additional benefit there. Obviously if you are staying offsite with an annual pass, then it does :)

There are other benefits to annual passes including discounts etc.

The great thing is if you visit twice in one year, the AP works for both trips!

Try this link to give you an idea of the room discounts.
Its not something we do as we dont like staying onsite. A lot lot better value offsite. We go upto 60 days a year so AP's are great value but we have to stick to peak time school holidays so AP hotel discounts are not usually available.

we always buy our annual passes only when we get to orlando.
If by chance the trip is canceled for some reason, that would be money i couldn't get back.

So we buy them when we arrive, when i know 100% that we're actually going to WDW. I still can make resort reservations using the discount rate. You don't need to have the APs when you're making the reservation, only when you check in. And even then, you don't have to. I always tell them that we're off to DTD to buy our passes and they say just show our passes to them once we have them. Which is what we do.

Thanks For Your Reply...Does The Discount Let You Stay In Any Disney Property??? Any Time Of The Year??? Would It Be Cheaper If Only One Member Of The Family Had The Annual Pass?? As It Works Out At £1.233 For 2 Aps,With One I Feel You Would Get The Benefit's Of The Free Parking,With 2 Aps I Think Its Rather Expensive Especially When I Could Get The Other Ticket Quite Cheap!!

Any Thoughts On This??

A Premium AP to cover all the WDW parks inc waterparks is about £310 at todays exchange rate so if you are doing two trips within a 12 month period it is very good value.

As for room discounts they are getting to be more difficult to get, especially around peak holiday dates, and often for specific hotels only with a lower discount than in previous years.

I think some people want them in advance to get Dining discount, I believe you need a code from the cards they send thru the post, it was discussed on another thread a few month back, other than that I don't know a reason to have them posted, either do Will call or buy there.

A reason to get them posted is the vouchers never expire so if bought today you could activate them in say 10 years time, so in a way if you have money to spare it may be an investment for the future!

Discounts can't be predicted, Disney give them when bookings are slow, need to push certain resorts or quiet times of year. Even with discounts I think they are overpriced but thats just my opinion, rather stay in a Marriott hotel at £25/night. You have to work out if you need just one or everyone needs them. You only need the one to get all the discounts but if you go into the parks a lot then you all need them.

A Premium AP to cover all the WDW parks inc waterparks is about £290 at todays exchange rate so if you are doing two trips within a 12 month period it is very good value.

We get the ones without Waterparks for just over £200. You need to use Waterparks or Disney Quest quite a bit to pay the difference. We only do maybe 1 or2 waterparks a year so not worth the difference.

that's ok...i don't need to invest that far into the future..
as they say, s**t happens.......i don't like to pay that much up front if i don't have to.....

that's not to say i won't under any circumstances....i always buy our broadway tickets in advance (and they cost a lot more than the APs)....but there's no other way for me to ensure i'll have the broadway seats i want when we're there...on the other hand, the APs aren't going anywhere...i can buy them in orlando and so i do...

I'm A Bit Confused Here:rotfl: :rotfl: From What I Understand One Ap Admits One (Am I Right??) One Ap Would Admit Me And Save On Parking!! Buying Two Would That Not Defeat The Purpose?? Yes We Plan On Going Next Year..

Yes you need an AP(or some kind of ticket) each to get in the parks, but only one if you are buying the AP just to get discounts.
We need one each as we go into Disney parks about 25 days a year. If you only go into the parks say 8 days a year then maybe its better to just buy 1 AP to get the discounts and free parking (if staying off site) and everyone else in your party buy 10 day magic your way tickets that don't expire.
So many options its a nightmare:goodvibes
