Looks like it will be a fun trip and I can't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday. I've always wanted to go see the Christmas decorations, but that has yet to happen. I'm glad that you got to let them in on the secret before they found out elsewhere. I'm sure they'll be bouncing off the walls with excitement for the next couple of weeks now.

I would much rather have them bouncing for a few weeks than a few months, or the neasrly 9 months we were planning. Thanks for writing!

I don't see us ever keeping a Disney Trip a secret. DW's parents live 45 minutes from Disney World, and the kids love to have their countdown to when they can see grandma & grandpa again - even if the countdown starts at T-minus 6 months.

And, seriously, congratulations on all of the weight loss. It's quite a feat to make that type of commitment!

I am pretty excited about the DisDads meets that we have set-up. Meeting some others that share the love of Disney will be great.

They are getting some north of us but none here. I think we'll escape it.

If history holds true, we will get a blizzard Tuesday night. The past two times I have come down in December, I have had to deal with flight cancellations and delays from snow.

Hey Jason! We met you and your family at DHS RD on Tuesday 12/14. Boy it was cold at DHS that day. We tried to warm up all day but all the stores were COLD...doors wide open no heat. Sci Fi for lunch was an ice box. But we still had a great day. Our son finally battled Darth Vader! He's been wanting to do it for a few years now but finally got enough nerve to do it. He loved it and I really enjoyed seeing him have so much fun.

Hey Sue - I was actually going to start looking for you on here today. It was nice to meet another Diser at RD. I am glad your son got to battle Darth Vader. My daughter wanted to do it, but the time was much later than we were going to be there. It was very cold that night at MVMCP as well. I havent decided if I am doing a trip report yet. I didnt get home until 1am this morning after being delayed in Orlando last night. I will think about it over the weekend. Hope you had a great trip!

I can't believe that your DW birthday is the same birthday as mine and our dates are close together. I also saw that you were also at DHS on Tuesday Dec. 14. I was also there that day and it was chilly that day.

The Who, What, Where, When, and Why...

Who: Myself - Jason, DW - Leslie, DD6 - Kaylee, DS3 - Kory

What: I shouldn't have to tell anyone...

When: 12/7 - 12/13/10

Where: Pop Century

Why: Because we got a PIN!

Leslie and I are going to try and keep this trip a surprise. The kids believe we are not going back until 2012. Our plan is to get Kaylee out of school early the day before and tell her we are going to visit family in another city. This may we might be able to keep it a surprise until we get to the airport in the morning.

Our kids work very hard at everything they try, from soccer, to swimming, to school. We feel they deserve this trip again this year. We have already started getting the "Don't know how you are doing" speeches from my MIL. She had no questions, when we footed the bill for her surprise 70th birthday party, but I digress.

Also on this trip, my DW will turn another year older. She has always wanted to go to the MVMCP, so we are doing it.

AND...

I know, it seems like a lot, but we have both made some huge changes since our last trip. We both worked very hard at losing weight. I had Lap-Band surgery just 2 weeks ago. I am down 16 pounds, post-op. That is on top of the 29, I lost before surgery. Leslie and I changed almost everything about our diets and we want to have a better batch of pictures the next time we go to Disney. So instead of going out to eat, or buying junk food at the grocery store, that money gets put away and used to buy a Disney gift card each month.

I pray that everything goes well with the lap band! I'll try one more time with out it. If I can not loose 30 to 50 by Christmas I may consider the lap band myself. Keep us posted of your results.
