Can we have a capacity crowd tip thread?

The verdict is still out on what crowds will look like Starting June 24th..

I thought maybe we could start a “worst crowds scenario thread” for those who have trips end of June and July and possibly beyond.

I’m specifically concerned about leaving the park for the afternoon and not getting back in.

We were there during Christmas capacity crowds in 2017 and we were able to enter back in by having a dinning reservation. We have a reservation each evening except one of our days and I’m wondering if we should book one just in case and can cancel it we need to.

What other tips do you all have?

My park days are June 30, July 1 and July 2
  1. I have 1 park per day tickets, once I'm in a park I'm not leaving until park closing time, no park hopping or afternoon breaks
  2. I have reservations for 1 table service meal on each park day. This is so that I don't have to battle long lines at counter service
  3. I have booked Blue Bayou Fantasmic Dining Package and Frozen Cathay Circle Dining Package, to make sure I get a good view in the shows without having to battle crowds
  4. I plan to arrive for rope drop each morning. Usually I arrive about 40 minutes after rope drop
  5. I usually get breakfast in Starbucks on Main Street / Buena Vista Street this year I am planning to mobile order at Downtown Disney and have breakfast while waiting in line at the entrance turnstile
  6. I am an international visitor and usually I turn off data and just use the free WiFi, this year I am buying an American Sim card so that I can use the APP to check for wait times and access the virtual queue for Star Wars Galaxy's Edge
  7. As I will have data in the parks, I'm also planning to mobile order snacks and counter service food
  8. I will go to Downtown Disney on my arrival day, when I don't have a park ticket

Both of you will be arriving after June 24th, so you will have at least a few days to watch what happens once the reservation period for SWGE ends. Disney has been planning for that day, so I don't think it will be quite the armageddon free for all that people are fearing. Today was a great example of what Disney is capable of doing when they focus on crowd control. People here were predicting horrific scenarios with overnight camping and out of control crowds trying to barge their way into SWGE without reservations. And it didn't happen. So give Disney a chance to work things out from now through June 23rd and to test things out on June 24th and onward. If things tank, then you'll have your strategies ready to go. But based on how well things went today, and based on how much hotel availability there is on and off site for the summer, things may not be as bad as feared. There may be glitches here and there, but let's hope that things go more smoothly than feared this summer.
