Can we go to Sci-Fi just for milkshakes??

I heard they were amazing and we don't have the time or really the desire to eat a meal there. Thought going in for milkshakes would give us a chance to experience the place, get out of the heat and also have an amazing milkshake!

Even if we can do this... do we need an ADR? Or would we tell the CM up front that we're just there for desert or something like that??

I would like to do the same thing, but couldn't get any ADRs for the day we are there. What are the chances we could just stop in, say, around 3pm, and expect to get in if we tell them it's just for shakes? :confused3

I don't think so. Why not go to 50's Prime Time and order it from the bar "to go?" I've done that for DH.

Because we're not going for the milkshakes, we're going for the atmosphere! My 2 DDs want to go there. We're going to 50's for lunch, but wanted to just stop in at Sci-Fi for a cheap "experience"!

I don't see any problem with it. Maybe just order a dessert or appetizer or something to go with the shakes. We've gone to Kona Cafe for coffee and dessert many times after an evening at the Magic Kingdom. We never had any problems.

I've gone to Sci Fi a couple times just for the milkshakes. It was usually in the afternoon around 3. Didn't have any trouble getting in. Doesn't hurt to try.

We've gone to SciFi for milkshakes and also sat at the bar and ordered s'mores and milk from the bar at 50'sPT. At SciFi you may be seated at one of the tables rather than the cars but you still get the same atmosphere.

Does anyone know how much the milkshakes are? They're not on the menu and I'm allergic to ordering stuff when I don't know the price... ;)

That is exactly what we are planning on doing. We've actually eaten there before, but this time I was torn because I really wanted to eat at 50's PT but knew the boys would love the atmosphere at Sci-Fi. So I went ahead and made a 2:40 adr for shakes or ice cream at Sci-fi and a 6:00 adr at PT for dinner.

I don't see why it would be frowned upon if you just get dessets. Yes, your bill will be less so maybe less tip, but you'll also be in and out much quicker and less work for the server. I would try and get an ADR a head of time if you can. We've gone to Sci-fi without one but you can spend a lot of time waiting. :hourglass
