We have a late flight coming out of Islip to MCO in October. Since we are going to be flying around dinner time I was going to stop off and bring dinner into the airport and onto the plane. Am I going to have a problem getting through security?
TIA

Shouldn't be an issue as long as you don't try to bring drinks through security, or those little condiment packages. Mayo, ketchup, relish are fine 'on' the food, but not so fine in those packets. Buy sodas when you get through security.

Now this is going to be even sillier.....could we put the packets in the liquids bag? Or pick them up where we are going to get drinks.
We will probably be better off without them all together, less mess.
Thanks for the reply.:worship:

I cannot recall eating at a McDonalds any time in the last few decades, but wouldn't it be stone cold by the time you got to the airport and on the plane? that would be at least 90 minutes or more.

Also, please rethink bringing anything with such a strong odour on board. I personally cannot stand the smell of that food. Although with it being cold by the time you opened it, I suppose that it wouldn't smell anymore.

Thats the great thing about Islip..

Super small airport..

I just printed off my boarding passes, and Baked the kids Muffins for tomorrow.. My son wanted me to just get up like 4 am to make them fresh.. HA HA HA HA

They will go in a zip lock baggie and threw secruity..

I cant belive Im leaving TOMORROW!

The other thing to remember is that you can usually grab something to eat at most airports. And there are usually food carts past security.

LOL not at the two regional airports I use - they have vending machines for soda and candy and that is it.

Well, I did say 'most'...as I was typing I was thinking of flying out of Worcester Regional a few years back. They had a counter set up with some coffee and a few pastries!! You're absolutely right...smaller airports have diddley.

Yeah regional airports (which are the big airports lol for some of us!) are definitely different -- some definite advantages though - security lines are often considered busy when there are more than 10 people in line (versus the hundreds you see at some airports!), parking is free at both of our airports which is really nice too! Just no food to speak of...

At MCI (Kansas City) the girls at the Starbucks told me TSA won't let you through with yogurt. Just an FYI. The Starbucks is outside of the security line at that airport, so you have to finish your coffee before you go to be screened.

If MCI still has security at every individual gate, that has to be a huge pain as that means every food/drink location (not to mention every bathroom!) is outside of security. The design always was stupid, but it's even more ridiculous in the post 9/11 world.

Yup - yogurt is considered a liquid so it cannot go through security.

They had security set up that serves a handful of gates when we were there in February.

Side note...I think MCI is probably one of most boring airports I've ever been to. The only saving grace is you don't have to arrive so soon at the airport. Unfortunately, we didn't know this at the time and we arrived 2.5 hours early. It was AWFUL!
