Can we get done in less than an hour - lunch at Sci-Fi?

I was just able to get an ADR for 2:25 at Sci-Fi for my husband and me. Then I realized we were going to try to see the 3:00 Block Party Bash parade and this might be cutting it a little to close to make it. We've never seen the parade or eaten at Sci-Fi.

Do you think we would be able to get done at Sci-Fi in less than an hour and make it to see the end of the parade? If not, which should we skip? Thanks!

We ate there twice, and service was slow both times. You might not be seated on time, and 30 minutes or less (you'll want to stake out a spot for the parade) won't cut it for a ts meal IMHO. Plus, you'd be in a hurry and stressed about making the parade. It wouldn't be relaxing to me to sit there trying to finish the meal as quickly as possible.

If you still want to eat there, speed things up by ordering your entrees as soon as you are seated. Ask for desserts to go. Maybe even show up a little early to see if they can seat you early?

As far as which to skip, what is more important to you--the restaurant or the parade? Do the one you want to do the most.

We have eaten at Sci Fi many times. Our service has always been decent but the problem we have encountered every time is being seated past our ADR time, sometimes by up to as much as 30 minutes. We now make our ADRs for when they first open to avoid this.

I think the experience is very unique and the food is mediocre. Since I'm not a fan of the block party bash, I'd probably prefer to watch the movies at Sci Fi.

The film loop at Sci-Fi lasts about 45 minutes and we're almost always done right when it starts to repeat. We are also two adults but order when the server wants us to. You can cut down on that 45 minutes by knowing ahead of time what you want to order and then doing that when the server first shows up for your drink order.

With a 2:25 seating, you should be OK for getting seated close to your original time. You can also show up earlier and they MIGHT be able to seat you earlier. I wouldn't 100% count on that but you never know.

I'm not a parade person so I wouldn't give up the lunch seating for that but if you need to see it, you need to see it.

Sorry I don't think you can do both. Your title said under an hour...but really you are talking about 1/2 hour.

To get seated, order wait 10-15mins to be served will put you at 45mins easy. So you are already over.

I agree with PP that said to choose one or the other, whichever is most important.

Personally I would skip the parade, but that is just me. Sci-Fi isn't the most exciting restaurant, but I certainly wouldn't want to speed thru it so fast I didn't really "experience" it.
