Can we eat in Epcot w/o tickets?

Strongly recommend heading to the party at 4 pm, when your party ticket will let you in. Can do so much before the events start at 7. and being open late, you should be able to do all you want in that time.

Glad you love MK, but you are truly missing out by not seeing the other parks. AK is NOT a zoo. They have animals sure, but rides and the shows!!! The shows are outstanding and should not be missed

Hope you venture away from the Mk some day :)
Even though I said it once, I definitely agree with this. AK is definitely not a zoo, at all. Not even close to a zoo. Can't even compare it to a zoo! There's nothing like going on Kilamanjaro Safari & having a zebra cross in front of your vehicle. :)

Each park should be experienced. You are missing so much by only visiting MK. MK is definitely magical, but the other parks are incredible!

Thanks for all the ideas. I do want to see the other parks. Each of the previosus times we've been to Disney we've only had a day to tour. It will be the same this time. And my main reason for going when we're going is for the Halloween party.

I just thought while the kids were little, this time, we'd do the MK. I could change my mind. I already changed my mind a dozen times in the past few months - and have 10 months to go.

But my thought was to do MK or an easy-to-do-in-one-day park. I hope in a couple years we can do a full-blown Disney vacation where we hit all the parks.

I know in three trips to the MK, we still haven't done or seen it all. And, my youngest slept through all three trips. So, he's never really experienced it. He also has never been photographed with a Disney character - he's flat out refused it.

and, just this past trip, my middle son was finally tall enough to ride space mountain and splash mountain.

We will see. I'm forever tossing ideas around.

What about eating at the Grand Floridian Cafe? It's on the monorail, so would be easy to get to MK from there. I've never eaten there, but it's supposed to be really good.

Try Ohana! The kids will enjoy the show, and the food is quite good and plentiful! It's right on the monorail.

I'm sure you know your kids better than me, but I wouldn't do Chefs with 3 little ones. Just my opinion.

MK is the only park we've ever been to ... but I have 3 boys ages 4, 7 and 9. They say they want the MK again!

Well, if MK is the only one your family has been to, it's all they know, and of course they are asking for what they know.

I hope you get a chance to have a much longer visit soon.

My son is 6, and while we have been to Disneyland and California Adventure several times, we did our first WDW trip last month. When asked, his number one TOP favorite ride is Toy Story Midway Mania, and then Mission:Space. And then Test Track. Having experienced quite a bit of all the parks, he doesn't even mention MK in his faves. He even enjoyed touring the countries of Epcot!

So I hope you get a chance to visit all the parks soon.

When you get a chance to stay longer, please be sure to give Epcot a try. My DD is 8 and Epcot has always been her second favorite park, right behind MK. There are a lot of great things there for kids.

However, with only one park day, I'd definitely go to MK. MNSSHP will not be enough time in the park, IMO. Plus, you're staying at the CR. It's just too convenient to stay right in the area.

With only one day... do you even NEED a TS restaurant? I'd rather spend my time on the attractions, and so would my kids. But, if you want one, then Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, and Whispering Canyon are all easy to get to and fun for kids.

Inside MK we love Crystal Palace, and the Plaza.

The only onsite restaurant in the theme parks where you can eat at without entering a park is the Rainforest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom, since they have a seperate entrance outside the ticket gates.

If you only have one day and already have the Halloween party for that same evening I don't think I would want to leave the MK or go far from it for dinner. Since the party tickets usually let you in at 4:00, I would suggest either The Plaza or heading to Kona Cafe, The Wave, or GF Cafe.

I wouldn't do California Grill because it would take way too much time from your day. Have a great time!

With only one day I would skip TS and have more time for touring.

RFC is not in AK, it is at AK. It is completely outside the gates. There are a separate pair of turnstiles outside of RFC for Park entry.
