Can we do this?

Hi, all. I booked a package at BWI in early June for myself, my 2 DDs and my niece as a graduation celebration for my oldest DD. We are in WDW for 6 nights and then heading to the beach for a week. Our package includes 5 day PH tickets, but no dining plan. DH just told me that he can now come down for our last two nights (he would arrive late Thursday night, spend Friday at Epcot with us, stay Friday night, and we would all check out on Saturday and head to the beach). Can I add him to our room for those last two nights even though he would not be on our package? I would absolutely expect to pay the fee for an extra adult per night (DD is 18, so she and I are already 2 adults in the room), and our room does have the capacity for 5 people (my younger DD is small and would be fine on the daybed for 2 nights). TIA!!

Yes you can add him for just the nights he will be there but you will have to do that AFTER you arrive. If you try to add him beforehand, he will have to be on the same package as everyone else on the reservation. Once you arrive you can add him for the nights he will be there. Then he can schedule Magical Express for his arrival if needed.

You can only add him as a package - whatever you have in advance. You can add him for the 2 nights once you are there. The only issue with that is that you cannot book fastpasses for him when you can at 60 days. In terms of the daybed our kids love the daybed and they are teenagers. My son is tall and last year when he slept on the daybed he was so comfortable. I hope that helps.

They can book fastpasses for him if they buy a separate ticket for him. Anyone can add a person to the fastpass group as long as they have a ticket. They don't have to be staying in a WDW resort room in order to include someone when making fastpasses. :)

Since they are staying at the resort they can book fastpasses at 60 days before, but if you only have park tickets you can book at 30 days out.
From the DisneyWorld site:
With Tickets, Plan 30 Days in Advance

With theme park tickets, you can make FastPass+ selections up to 30 days prior to the day you’ll use them.

The people who are registered to the resort room can add someone to their fastpass selection even if that person isn't staying with them. We've done it many times. What you can't do is make your own fastpasses at 60 days out if you aren't in the room. The husband can buy a ticket and the wife can include him when she selects the fastpasses. But you are right that he can't make a fp for himself until 30 days out. He would have to let her do it, or anyone in the room. :)

You can get the details about how it works in the fast pass facts thread. :)

ETA: This only works when you have active tickets. It wouldn't work for a package ticket until the ticket is activated. :)
