Can we do this?

We were just thinking about our return flights, can we use the desk at the hotel for airline check in when travelling on Delta MCO-ATLANTA-MAN or will it not be possible due to us having the "international" travellers status despite using a domestic flight to begin the journey home. It would have helped to be able to do the check in 12 hours in advance from the resort that's all we were considering. Hopefully we can sort out DME soon so that's not so much of an issue for us.

On our 2009 trip we flew home MCO-DTW-LHR and it counted as international travel as your bags are checked through to UK. So unless the rules have changed I doubt it.

you can only check bags for domestic flights, so it won't work for you

there is an off airport check in facility at the LBV outlets ( http://www.offairportcheckin.com/ ) but you'll need a car or a taxi to get there and if I'm right all passengers must be present in order to check bags and get boarding passes.

you'll be better off taking your bags with you on the DME and check them at the airport (you can still check in online 24 hours before departure to speed things up at the airport)

Ok then thank you, I'm sure DME will get us to the airport in plenty of time so we can get checked in and get boarding passes etc there.
We really don't fancy trailing all over with cases to an off site destination just to do check in and drop off our cases. Not sure we want to part with them until we get to the airport now anyway since the airlines and security at the airports do not want you locking your cases these days.

when you get your DME make sure they know its a connection for an international flight,As if the first is an internal sometimes the pick up is less by default.we lock our cases with TSA locks
