Can we do Spectro at 8 with Kona at 5pm?

Hi all,

After having ADR's since 180 days out my DH has finally looked at the plan and now I'm rearranging things. We now have dinner at Kona on Monday 9/25 at 5pm (just the two of us). I want to also see Spectro at 8 that night since that night will probably be our only chance. Is this doable even with dinner before?

And am I correct in that we'll have to drive from the Poly to the TTC since you only get a three hour pass? Or can we valet and just hop the monorail over?

Thanks!

Two solutions:

1. Park at TTC when you first arrive and take the resort monorail to Poly and, later, to MK.
(No need to move your car.)
2. What you suggested about Valet.

Since you are having dinner at Kona, the guard MAY give you a 3 hour pass, depending on how crowded it is. However, they don't look to tow you, even with a 3 hour pass. (If anyone has ever been towed, please let me know). So you could technically leave your vehicle there, unless you don't feel quite comfortable with this. But, my advice would be to valet, just so you can have "warm fuzzies" when you watch Spectro. :wizard:

I say, go with the parking at TTA. There is even a little walkway to Poly from there that is quicker than taking the monorail IMO. A CM can show you how to get to it if you would rather walk. We have only eaten at Kona for breakfast, so I'm not sure how busy it gets for dinner, but based on our experience, you will have plenty of time to eat and ride the monorail over to MK for Spectro. I would NOT however, want to deal with valet or any kind of parking at Poly and then drive over to TTA parking after eating. It's pointless, when you can park there before you eat.

It depends. Service at Kona is normally pretty quick, but if you are on the dining plan it will still take awhile, because you'll be going through 3 courses. If you're not on the dining plan and don't bother with appetizers, it will probably be no more than an hour for dinner. For convenience, I'd use the valet parking at the Poly; no messing with TTC and the trams.

The trickiest part will be getting into the MK. Once you cross under the station you'll be greeted with an absolute SEA of humanity, and it is nearly impossible to maneuver through it. The crowd on Main St. can build more than an hour before the parade starts. In the same situation, I would get onto the Railroad immediately, then get off at the Frontierland stop and watch Spectro at the end of the route near Pecos Bills.
