Can we do a Magical Gathering

if we are staying on points?

how exactly does it work? My whole family is going - 5 will be paying for a room at a Disney resort, we will be 5 staying on points and my other sister is going to be 4 off -site

since we have 10 in resorts can we include the other 4? or can we not even have one b/c we are DVC?

yes you can - you need to call member services and tell them you need to get a magical gathering number - you will also need all of the reservation numbers for your party. Once they have all the info, they will email you a MG number which you can use to make reservations. THey also make sure your rooms are together in the resort you are staying - we are planning one for July at the BWV

The people who are staying off site can be included in any reservations you make for the magical gathering. Forgot to add that sorry!

We had a grand gathering last October (there were about 30 of us) - most of us DVC. As I remember it, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, you call the magical gathering people to get your official "number." Then you either give it to MS when you are making your reservation or add the number to your existing reservation.

There's a certain percentage of your group that has to be staying on property (80% seems to come to mind, but I could be wrong). It worked out for us since all 30 didn't want to attend all the same activities so some friends who live down there were able to join us.

We did the Wishes cruise, the safari dinner, breakfast at Tony's and the Illuminations dinner. It was all great but I know our two "planners" spent many, many hours on the phone with the magical gathering people - even when we were there. Two of our group changed resort reservations and their magical gatherings got cancelled. No one knew until they showed up at the Safari dinner and their names weren't on the reservation. It all worked out but when I say many, many hours on the phone - I mean, many, many hours on the phone.

But, when it was all over, every one including the planners said they would do it again.
