Can we cancel and re-book another resort?

Our home resort is AKV and, in past years, we have never had any problem getting a reservation at another resort. Our next trip is pencilled in for October 2021 (all being well travel-wise) but as this is beginning to look like being the major part of the 50th anniversary celebrations we are thinking that a reservation for other than our home resort may be very difficult to secure.
If we book AKV at 11 months and then find accommodation at another resort at 7 months - can we cancel and re-book? What is the procedure? Thanks.

You can easily modify it on online without cancelling the Home Resort booking

Our home hotel is AKV and, in past years, we have never had any issue getting a booking at another retreat. Our next trip is planned for October 2021 (all being great travel-wise) however as this is looking like being the significant piece of the 50th commemoration festivities we are imagining that a booking for other than our home hotel might be extremely challenging to get.
On the off chance that we book AKV at 11 months and afterward track down convenience at one more retreat at 7 months - would we be able to drop and once again book? What is the strategy? Much appreciated.
