Do some people do this? or is it tacky?
I just read a post where someone brought their drink into the dining room with them. I had thought of doing this also but would I be looked down upon?

Sure, you can bring a drink into the dining room with you. Not a problem. :)

We were at the Captain's reception where they are handing out free tropical punch type drinks and on our way to dinner shortly thereafter. I brought my drink with me into the dining room and never received a second glance! :)

You want tacky??? We bought some of the drinks in the "collectible" glasses the first day, and mixed drinks in our room using vodka and gin we brought on board (in our luggage) and carried those into the dining rooms on some nights.

No one cared. And even better, there's no corking fee! Heck, we even had tiome a couple of times to go back to the room after dinner, mix new drinks and then go to the show with those drinks.

Next time around I think I'm just going to stap a recycled IV bag filled with wine to my leg and run a tube up under my tux, and sip from it during the meal.

O.K. here's my story. I carry my own in too, in the collectible glass or I get a wine glass from one of the bars, depending on what my drink of the day is. Then I carry any extra that I have blended up in my blender in a tupperware bottle type container. I put that in a canvas bag that I tote with me to dinner which also hold DD's crayons and coloring book.

No problems yet.:D

Im barely awake-its 6am and Im Laughing!!
I love the IV story. That would have been me a few years ago.
I guess it's just that my only cruise to date has been with my MIL and noone was drinking (well barely) on that cruise except me.
(I had nips in my fanny pack. Upon boarding I bought my first drink in an NCL glass so I could make my own drink and carry their glass.)

I think it will be alot different when I cruise with DH in Nov!!

Hi Folks

Here is another idea? If you go to a sports store you can get a camel pack. Straps on your back and under your jacket with a tube that you clip on your lapel. You can fill it with wine or mixed drinks, however, I would not want to try it with carbonated mixers:D

Joe,

The Camelback works well, you have to get the fake carnation drinking straw for either your lapel or in a ladies hat. You can also squeeze the bag and use it as a squirty flower. Hey smell my flower... splash.:jester:

Oh! I love it all. Now I know what to get my DH for a cruising gift. I'm off to the Sporting Goods store to look for the camel pack. Thanks for the idea.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hi Folks

Well I won't be suspect, I am carrying mine under my arm:D
