We are going with friends and will be a party of six. Can we ask for two checks?

Yes. It easiest to tell the server who will be together on each check at the start of the meal (that way you won't have to wait as they re-do the check at the end of the meal). The servers are pretty used to this because of the DDP.

This can easily be done. As the PP noted, you should let the server know at the start to make it easier.

However, you will still be a party of six and so subject to the mandatory 18% gratuity. So each check will include its own 18%.

If you're using Tables in Wonderland, the rule is that all discounted meals should be on one check.

Thanks! We are all on the DDP. I know we will each order drinks and apps. so separate checks will make it easier.

We usually tip at least 18% so that's not an issue.
