Can transferred points be banked?

Wasn't sure if transferred points can be banked or if they need to be used during their original use year. Thank you.

Transferred points can be banked but I'm not sure the deadlines if the use year is different. I'd ask MS.

Member Services is not set up to tract the original use year of transferred points. Points that are transferred are suppose to retain the original use year of their origin but in reality they often aquire the use year of the member account they are transferred into. My suggestion would be to both transfer points into like or advanced use years and keep track of the original use year of the transferred points if they go into an earlier use year so the point can be argued with MS if necessary.

I hope they get this issue taken care of. I think it is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG that the original owner can't bank his or her points but when they are transferred the use year can not only get extended but banking privileges can be restored. Our add on through DVC came through in Mid-April this year (and closed in mid-May). Since we have a June use year, we couldn't bank the points and they would have expired at the end of May for us. I did not know about the loophole and couldn't understand why it was so easy for me to find people who wanted me to TRANSFER the points (not interested in a straight rental). When I learned the real story, I was more than a bit dismayed to find out about this loophole. I want to make it quite clear that I don't think that the member to whom I transferred the points took advantage of me because the problem is really DVD/DVC's and he was just taking advantage of the situation (in fact, I don't even know that he took advantage of the situation--it was a possibility that it could have been done, though).
