I was looking at menus on the DISboards, thinking that I would book Crystal Palace for supper one night. The price given for lunch/dinner is $36 to $59.99. Can that $59.99 really be true? We are not on the DDP (so far) and this price would just be too much. :confused3

Sadly, Yes. It is a price for peak season. When are you going?

CP is not $59.99 during peak dining times.

Allears December menu for dinner shows $39.40-43.66 - so I'm assuming $43.66 is the peak price. Even if it wasn't, peak pricing is about $4 more, so it would be $47-48.

Lunch is less expensive.

(If you note, on the DIS information, ALL meals are shown as that range you gave - up to $59.99 - I believe, like the Disney dining site, it shows the price for all buffet TS meals - resort-wide, for all time periods).

If you call the Disney dining line (1-407-WDW-DINE) and tell them what date you would be eating, where you would be eating, and for what meal, they will tell you the exact price. Of course, this price can change but it will give you a more accurate idea. :goodvibes

Totally agree - and should have suggested that myself. Calling with your specific date is the best answer.

Last Sat dinner for my wife and I was just under $100 with tip at CP.

Like you I couldn't believe that was really the price, but it so. We are also not on a dining plan and will only be doing buffet's for breakfast. For $60 I can eat really well at a non-disney resturant.

$59.99 is *not* the cost of dinner at CP. It is merely the upper end of the price range that the restaurant falls into. The WDW web site has four different price ranges, and every place at WDW falls into one of those four. So you will find places who are significantly different in price that happen to fall into the same range.

With tax & tip, dinner for an adult is in the mid-to-high 40s, depending on the time of year.

I think that these prices are bizarre. We like the Crystal Palace but paying $100 for two just seems way too much.

Your paying for Winnie the Pooh and friends, and the convenience of not having to stand in line to see them. So you can't look at CP as just. TS it is more. The food is also pretty good.

Thanks for the support! :)

This, and I will still make the argument that part of those prices go to cover a portion of the dining plans, especially "free" dining.

Yeah, the WDW web site is going to continue to cause this confusion, and the question will continue to come up with new members, and we will continue to explain it. It's not at all the fault of those asking the question, it's the way the web site presents information that is easily misunderstood.

If I were really smart, which I'm not, I would write up an explanation and just do copy-and-paste when these questions come up. Just like over on the other forum when TDC Nala and I explain about a couple of the fine points on the credit-card-cancellation policy.

::yes:: It's insane. I'll stick with my borrowed theory that Disney increased buffet prices to gently guide DDPers into choosing buffets. ;)

Interesting theory.

Luckily we're past the character dining phase. I know that it's important for families with young children though.

This was PEAK season (4th of July) in 2011: (B-adult $26.99, L-adult $28.99, D-adult $40.99)

I am sure prices have gone up a few bucks, but not to $59.99 as others have said...the website just provides a range of all restaurants in that category.

I know right. I'm glad were past that too but we did our fair share. I don't notice the same price increases on non buffet dining
