I am trying to plan my first trip home to SSR, but I think I would like to also check out HH. Because of the 4 month time lapse between reservation windows I was going to reserve My full allotment of poins at SSR to ensure I at least have that. Then at the 7 month window try to get a couple of nights at HH. If I do this can I just cancell the overlapping nights at SSR and keep the remander of the reservation?

Now when I have several reservations for the same day - that confusing them.

I agree, it's what I'd recommend. You may also want to consider a cash HH reservation, esp if you're looking at a weekend. Granted it works best for WDW resort to other WDW options, it's viable for HH and VB for many as well. I will note that there are a handful of people who feel you shouldn't reserve time you are likely not going to use and will cancel later. To them I say LOL.

We've stayed at HHI on our way to WDW before and glad we did. I think you have a good plan in the works. Go for it.
