I just wanted 2 find out this scenario.

If I book a WDW vacation package for 5nights with 10day base tickets with free Dining checkN on Sept 12th checkN out on Sept 17th

move to another resort with a separate reservation booked for
Sept17-22nd this time with a 40%room only discount

Will I be able 2 use the tickets that I brought on the 1st reservation 2 get into the parks with my room only reservation? I hope my? is clear

I think that would work. Your tickets expire 14 days after first use but with a 10 day trip you'd be okay. Of course the dining plan would not carryover to your second ressie.

Yes you can, your tickets will be good for 14 days from first use (unless you get the non-expiring option). However, your tickets will probably be on your KTTW card that you will get at your first resort. I don't know if you can get them transfered to to the keys for your 2nd resort, so you may have 2 KTTW that you will have to keep up with when you move.

We did this on our last stay...we actually stayed one night with a package and dining, and then did a resort only. We bought enough days on the tickets to last the entire stay. When we checked into our "resort only" we transferred the tix to the new hotel key. This didn't go as smoothly as it should have (my parents did this with the CM next to us no problem...our CM was having difficulties but I think it was user error). In the end, we ended up with the tix on our new hotel keys.

I've also read that you can request 2 different cards at your initial check-in: one for your room and dining, and the other for your tickets. Then, when you switched rooms, you could just get another room card and keep the ticket card you have. The other advantage to doing this is you can have a fastpass volunteer run around collecting while some members of your group leave the parks early for a rest, or go to dinner, or something.

Yes, no problem. We did that last year. We did 3 nights at Pop, then moved to BCV for 5 nights. The tickets were on the room card at Pop and when we moved to the BCV they removed the left over ticket value and put them on the BCV room cards. It worked perfectly.

The only thing I'm sure the OP knows is that the dining credits will expire on the checkout day of the first reservation, so you have until mid-night to use up all of the credits.
