I've been sitting here online, reading stuff on Amazon, Google and in Goggle Books. I haven't downloaded anything in several days. When I have, they've been eBooks form reputable companies, like Amazon. And I always run the AVG antivirus scanner anyway.
But, I'm sitting here writing paper notes, with the computer running, the Internet up, but I'm not actively doing anything on it.
I look up at the computer screen after I hear the hard drive whirring, and I see that my AVG antivirus has alerted me that it's found a Trojan horse.
This is the FOURTH one it has found in weeks and each time it happened the same way. I am on a window of what should be a safe site, and the computer is idle for a while, then I get a Trojan alert.
A few days ago, I had even downloaded and run Malwarebytes anti-malware program three times and I thought it had caught everything.
How can a Trojan show up when I'm not even doing anything on the computer? Can someone now have my IP address, and just transmit a Trojan virus to me? I have the basic Windows Firewall running. Do I need something stronger?

Now I have to spend my New Year's doing a clean install, which I was hoping to avoid. Happy frickin' new years to me.
But, if someone can just send me a Trojan, how is this going to make a difference?
