We will be going in December and would like to know what days the cast parties fall on, also the candle light procession so we can plan accordingly.
Thank you much :)

I read on another thread that the Candelight is the weekend of the 6th and 7th. I would also like to know when the CM Parties are. Anybody?

So the cast party is on the first Monday and Tuesday of December, ( 1st and 2nd ) or the next Monday and tuesday ( 8th and 9th ) after the candleight processon?
thanks :)

:rotfl: now I'm more confused. Everyone keeps saying the first Mon and Tue but that's before Candlelight. So which is it? :lmao:

It is the first Monday and Tuesday after the CP. I have yet to see them before. :goodvibes

So what is the candlelight processional??

It's the annual Christmas devotional held at Disneyland, usually on the first week of December. A celebrity guest reads the Nativity from Main Street, while a choir from local churches and such form a solemn procession down Main Street and sing Christmas hymns. They perform with a live orchestra on a stage in front of the Main Street train station.

I had the same question about when the CM parties would be and I did some research a while back before booking my Dec. trip. From looking at the Dec. schedules in the past several years, the CM parties were always on the first Mon. and Tuesday of Dec. In the most recent years, the Candlelight Processional happened before the CM parties because the weekend occurred first. I went back several years to find a December where the weekend (first Saturday) didn't start until the 6th like it will this year. (That is when the CP's should be....on the first weekend, so the 6th this year). The CM parties were scheduled on the first Monday and Tuesday, and they were before the CP, because the first Mon. and Tues. were before the weekend. So, I am hoping this is the case and if everything follows the usual pattern, then this should be right. Hope this makes sense. :)

Does the weekend of the Candelight Processional draw huge crowds? It sounds wonderful, but I'm deciding between that weekend and the following one. Is the CP worth seeing despite the crowds? Typically, we try to beat the crowds as much as possible, but if the CP is "not to miss", we may reconsider.

Awsome!! thank you so much, if this is all the case then my trip will be awsome and the park will be open later :)

I would love to know about the CP also. We are tentatively planning a return trip on Dec. 7-12 and want to know if we should rearrange our schedule to make sure we can see it. I would love to see the processional - but would love to know about the crowds???

Does the park close early that night? and is there a good place to watch it? and is it worth seeing? We love Christmas and are looking forward to seeing DLR all decked out - it sounds like the CP would just be one more great thing to see when we are there!

Thank you so much for doing this research, I really really appreciate it. It is very frustrating to me that we can not get this information accurately this far in advance. I understand that we still have a while before Dec but the fact that they are closing the park at 5 or 6 is huge to me and I would like to plan around that. When I called Disney they said they wouldn't know until Sept. Well most of us that work need to request time off long before Sept in order to get Dec off.

Brady's mom, we are planning our trip for the same dates. I'm not sure what your plans are on Sunday but we arrived the Sunday of the CP last year and I think the event was at 6pm or so. We chose not to watch just because of the crowds on main street but it was really cool and it sounds like you will already be there, if you plan to go into the park that day.

Is CP Sunday only or also Sat? Our departure day is Sunday and since we will be dealling with crowds already, it would be nice to plan on seeing the CP to make it worth-while.

The CP is Saturday and Sunday. I believe there are two shows, each night.

It's of some interest to those of us who live in Anaheim too - they still have the fireworks even though DL closes early, so they run during the evening rush hour. Quite a surprise to those who weren't expecting it.
