... or just bad taste?
I have a sil who at the last four or five family get togethers (a birthday, a christening, a graduation and my mil's retirement party) has worn a pair of sheer white pants and a black thong underneath. The running joke now is "will she dare to wear it yet AGAIN???"
I will keep my opinion to myself, but just wondering if I have totally missed this latest fashion style...

LOL!!!!! I'm pretty sure it's not a new trend. If it is, I'm sure it will be on it's way out *very* soon. My vote goes to "bad taste".

drats yet another fashion trend i seem to have missed out on,., adds sheer white pants and a black thong to my wal mart list forthis week:) wonder if this wqill make me any more popular than my low rise pants,,( well i am a plumber or used to be one anyway:))

I think it's just trashy! Unless it's a beach coverup and she's at the beach!

I thought it was trendy to wear a black bra with a white shirt. Maybe that is out already, but this sounds similar. I think what is especially strange is that she always wears the same outfit! :p

This is off topic, but it's fashion related.

What is it with women, of all ages, wearing t-shirts/shirts that are obviously at least a couple of sizes too small for their bodies? It's not just young girls wearing these unflattering t-shirts, but older women too. I don't get it...

You should not see undergarments through clothing. I agree whit whomever said it's trashy.

The teeny top thing has been going on for awhile. I suppose I can live with it so long as people atren't oozing out of them...but they are, aren't they? :crazy2:

Ewww

I'm going to go with Bad Taste.

No offense but that sounds so tacky and trashy looking. Esp. at a christening!?

Yikes, certainly not MY style! I like to dress my age. I think women who dress younger than they are look ridiculous. They don't realize that it doesn't make them look younger, it makes them look like they're TRYING to look younger! LOL

I can't believe she would wear something like this to family get togethers:eek: - That's just wrong!!!!

I do believe that this is a new style and personally I don't have a problem with it at a night club. I used to go to nightclubs in Chicago before I had children and woman did dress this way. But it's a nightclub and it's 2:00 in the morning.

There are some people that dress this way in the wrong places because they are looking for a reaction. My advice would be to ignore it and maybe she'll stop dressing like this - at least we can hope:teeth:

Yikes....
IMO very poor taste to wear, especially at MIL's retirement party?? :earseek:

and speaking of thongs...
what's with the teens wearing exposed thongs above the waist of their jeans???

She wants attention, but from relatives? That's ick.

I thought maybe I was back at Disney, sitting down people watching. Between the thongs showing at the top, the thongs showing through (especially a lot of fun for my hubby at the water ride in AK!), the net blouses with no bra's, and the bikini tops, worn with rolled down shorts with bikini bottoms, I really wonder if there is a dress code there.
Your sil is obviously looking for attention. Although maybe if I was skinny enough to think anyone would want to look, I would wear a black thong with white pants too. As it stands now, I could clear the room! LOL

I am ROFL with these responses. I wish I had the nerve to print out this thread and mail it to her anonymously!!:earseek:

We went to my little bil's hs graduation last week. The girls have to wear white dresses. You would not believe the number of girls that had on dark colored thongs that you could clearly see through their dresses.

Way to make mom & dad proud, huh?
