Can someone tell me if I'm right?

We have a September UY. We are planning to go to Aulani after August 2016 so we would be in our 2016 UY. If we have points from our 2014 UY that we bank into our 2015 UY, we would NOT be able to use those particular points for a trip that takes place after the end of our 2015 UY. Right? I thought that was right but now I've thought about it so much I'm confusing myself. Thanks!

September 2014 UY will expire August 31, 2015 if you banked them they will expire August 31, 2016. For your trip for Sept 2016 you will not be able to use your banked Sept 2014 UY's points.
So you are correct.

An option would be to have your Aulani trip start in August and continue into September. You could use your 2014 points for dates up to 8/31 and your 2015/2016/2017 points for any dates 9/1 and after.

your Sept 2016 UY starts on Sept 1, 2016. so for a stay between Sept 1, 2016 and Aug 31, 2017, you have access to pts from your 2015 UY + 2016 UY + 2017 UY.

any banked pts from your 2014 UY will disappear into the void if not used for a stay before Sept 1, 2016.
