I had saved that a couple of years ago on my lap top, but I didn't bring mine on this trip. If anyone can help me out...that would be great. THANKS!!!!!!

I saved this a couple years back - not sure if it will still work but thought it might be worth a try:

Hold the F/C button in until it says Bp (bypass mode) then let it go. When it comes back on it'll be in Centigrade so you're need to push it once more to get the Fahrenheit reading. From that point, adjust to the desired temp.

I've never stayed at SSR but when I was at Kidani, someone posted these for me:

Press the power button and the down arrow button simultaneously. The letters "bp" should appear in the display indicating you are in "bypass" mode. Then you can use the up/down buttons to set the temperature. You may have to do this every 24 hours or every few days.

The sensor by-pass for our kind of thermostat was simple--I just pressed the "off" button and both the temperature "up/down" buttons all at the same time. "BP' appears in the thermostat, and then it operates as most other themostats in most other hotels in the US

And yet another:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.

2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).

You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process.

TO CHANGE AC THERMOSTAT SETTINGS THE THERMOSTAT HAS TO BE PUT INTO "SERVICE MODE" IT IS SIMPLE TO DO BY PRESSING THE FOLLOWING KEYS ON THE FRONT OF THE THERMOSTAT.

EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE:

1. PRESS (AND KEEP PRESSED) THE F/C KEY

2. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE DISPLAY KEY.

4. RELEASE THE F/C KEY.

UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS SEQUENCE, THE LCD WILL DISPLAY PAR (PARAMETER) AND THE PARAMETER NUMBER.

1. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL # 6 APPEARS. (NEW MODELS # 24)

2. PRESS THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. THE CURRENT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED.

4. PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL THE DESIRED ROOM
TEMPERATURE APPEARS
5. PRESS THE F/C KEY

The F and C is a switch on the left that you move up or down. I just pushed the power on/off button at the same time as pushing arrow down button and bp came up. I will see it that works. LOL Thanks

subbing to this thread............. we'll be at SSR in less than 2 weeks - so PLEASE let us know (if it) or what worked for you!!!! :goodvibes

WOWWWWWWWWWWWW more ways. Thanks !!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info, Does this work at other DVC resorts, like AKV at jambo. We were there in May and I could not get the room to cool down. How is the air conditioning at BWV. We will be there in Oct.

We just returned, and for each of our rooms @ SSR, BWV and Vero, we had to increase the temps as the rooms were all too cold! We keep our house at like 74 or 75, even when it's 100 degrees outside, as it's been as of late in our very humid city!

Hubby has always figured out how to work the thermostats at the DVC resorts, but I'm going to show his this thread with those detailed instructions!

Hope OP gets cooled down, Tiger :)

Old trick is get a balloon and tie it near a vent near the sensor.....the sensor gets tricked by the movement of the balloon to keep the A/C on....

Doesn't work at Kidani where you aren't allowed to have balloons- bad for the animals.

I've used the instructions I've posted at Kidani and they worked fine. Haven't needed them at BLT or BCV or BWV. Will find out about OKW in December.

We have stayed at OKW many times (home resort) and we have never had a problem. It works great. I am not sure if they are changing any of the air conditioning units during the refurb. I don't think they are. You should be cool at OKW.

Only problem is when the room gets down to the desired temp the A/C stops, and so does the balloon. So keep that ceiling fan on. Actually, I've found the override remedies above to work fine. I've also read in past threads that people simply call engineering and tell them they want it taken off of motion sensing and they were accommodated. Of course, everything is subject to change.

Rob we have been leaving our fans on too.....:thumbsup2

does this work [over-ride] @ all the resorts? (blt)

now, back to our pool,

On our first stay at SSR this past February, it drove me nuts when the a/c stopped at night. I remember waving my sheet up and down many times each night to get it to start up again! I always like the white noise of the a/c or fan at any hotel, and it makes me grumpy that I can't have that option at my own DVC resort. Thanks for these direction--I'll be sure to try them when I go down in December!!
