Can anyone tell me about the FW cabins? I'm having trouble finding opinions about them. I understand they used to be somewhat junky, but better now? Is it themed like other resorts but only as a woodsy cabin? Does it have the same familar "Disney" feel like staying at other resorts? How are the pools - themed? Crowded? Do they have views of the lake? Do they have an isolated feeling, or are they pretty much right on top of each other? And lastly, would you go back?

I've camped and rented cabins a lot in my youth, and though it might be a fun alternative to the other resorts for a change. Thanks for any answers to the above.

I have stayed there twice and loved them, so peaceful after a day at the parks. You can see the other cabins from yours but they have a decent sized lot per cabin. There are outdoorsy themed. I have only been to the pool a few times, not themed but nice and big. The cabins used to be RV type things but they are now cute little cabins. We would definately go back. Here is a website with all sorts of info and you might want to try asking your questing on the Camping board here at the DIS.

Hope this helped

Is it true that there is no TV in the bedroom of the cabins?

trustknoone - what a great FAQ page - thanks for the link.

chitownzee - according to the FAQ links they have VCR's - so I would assume they have TV's!!

Yes -- that was probably the only disappointing thing in our Christmas stay last year. We had looked at the Disney website and thought there would be two. Although we didn't really spend a lot of time watching TV:rolleyes:

We stayed there in May and it was an absolutely PERFECT alternative for my coworker and I who were visiting Orlando for a conference. The price was the same as a hotel room when we went last year to Denver. There was so much more room!

I was surprised to see the cabins all lined up near eachother but it didn't feel too crowded. I have to admit I never did get the hang of the bus system, but we took the car most of the time. I was very disappointed about there not being a TV in the bedroom as I thought I read there was one in there.

We didn't get to use the pool, though I didn't see any theming going on. I also envied those who splurged on the golf carts, it seems the best way to get about the resort.

You can get some excellent prices for the cabins and I think they are well worth the money. I enjoyed the wooded setting. If you need peace and quiet the cabins are for you!

Oops - didn't read the bedroom part of the question!

I don't ever turn on the tv when I'm on vacation anyway - unless I want to check the weather!
