We are checking into POP on Aug. 21st, but would like to stay in Orlando prior to that. We're thinking 3 nights, our problem is we are a family of 7 and nothing ever comes cheap for us. Even the Nick hotel will make us get a 3 bdrm over a 2. Does anyone know of a nice place that will hold us all AND has a really nice pool for the kids to hang out at for 3 days. That way we don't have to swim at Disney. Thanks for suggestions..........

How about one of the many timeshares in the area? They usually have better than average accomodations (larger rooms, kitchen, and laundry) and much nicer pool areas than a typical hotel. Many have extra activities like miniature golf, movie nights, crafts, and things. I think all or at least most rent the rooms nightly too. A two bedroom condo may accomodate 7...you could ask.

Timeshare sounds great. Now can someone give me some names of some timeshares? I am totally unfamiliar with Orlando. Last year we drove straight to Disney and didn't leave until we had to go home. Which is what Disney wants, but I know there is far more to Orlando than Disney.

for Sheraton Vistana you can try this link

for Cypress Pointe
www.hotelkingdom.com

for buena suites (not a timeshare )

not sure if this will meet your needs for a great swimming pool - I think it is homes?

now if you just want a nice swimming pool - Sheraton Safari - this is a hotel

On Hotel Kingdom, you can get Cypress Pointe or CP Grand Villas for a good price. 2 BR is 99.12/night, 3BR is 141.60/night.

When I need to find a hotel, I go to expedia.com and put in the area I am looking at and then read the reviews people post.
When I did this for orlando there was 14 pages so I am sure you could easily find something.
If you put in your dates they also will tell you what is available and the rate.

I was just looking at hotelmartusa.com and they offer a 3 or 4 bedroom townhouse at Fiesta Keys Resort for $80 for the 3 bedroom and $86 for a 4 bedroom. Those rates include taxes! I have never stayed here but have booked through hotelmartusa.com and have never had any trouble. I did a general yahoo search for Fiesta Keys and the pictures look nice enough and for the price you can't complain. The villas have a washer and dryer and that is such a nice thing especially in the summer with all the sweaty laundry you will have. I think this would be perfect for your family of 7!

How about a 5bedroom/5bath home with a pool for $225/night???? Found that when I started having second thoughts staying onsite for 12 days. Too much for us (a nice 3bed townhouse was all we needed), but it may fill your needs. Looking for the link...oh yeah found it on www.vrbo.com Check out Windsor Hills.

Happy deciding!!!

Great Pool at the Hyatt Grand Cypress (which the Villa Guests use - as well as paddleboats, bikes, sailing). The Villas could handle your large group especially if you are able to use inflatables for the younger ones...the one bedroom villa is hugh (1,100 sq. ft) with a kitchen, washer/dryer, dining room, living room etc. May want to check it out ! I posted a few questions about it but haven't heard anything yet. We have stayed at the Hyatt a few times and it has always been top notch - so I can't imagine any less from the Villas.

We did the tour a couple times, cheap and great places, we stayed at the Westgate Tours as Well as the West Gate Villas (2 Bedroom full kitchen)
both were under 400.00 for 7 days and 2nd property full washer/dryer the Tours were stacked.
Cheap. 90 minute tour. They were good both times, no pressure, we tell them anyway only here for the cheap vacation, there's a ton of people (mostly 100%) that are there just for that reason!!!:beach:

enjoy your trip!

April 10.....cannot come soon enough!
I need more FL Sunshine!!!:beach: :hourglass :wave2:

Yikes, just checked the rates and for some reason they are really high right now for that link I just sent. We got our room for 121 a night for this year, and last year we got it for 112.50 a night, for a 1 br.

We are going to a new resort that offers a continental breakfast and snacks and refreshments during the evenings. The pool area looks very nice and we got a 3 bedroom for 159/night through AAA. Check them out: http://worldquestorlando.com/index.php

try this place 3 bedroom condo
$59 a nite!
doubleU doubleU doudleU DOT vrbo.com/68851
its a condo, with a very big pool, we almost took it for next weekend, but really wanted a private home.

any of the townhomes at windsor palms have good pricing!
wayyyyyyyy better than a hotel room!

You Dis guys are the best. I can always count on you to help out. Now all I have to do is sort through this information I have. They all only seem to get better.....
Thanks. Lisa

Lisa - If you want a place to hang out with a terrific pool....truly one of the best I've ever been to, check out Regal Palms Resort. We have been to a ton of the timeshare resorts in Florida...which were all great, but the pool area at Regal Palms can't be beat.

They have 4 bedroom townhouses (which are furnished basically) for about $100 a night including taxes. The resort is kind of far from the parks, but if you want to just hang out and relax it really is terrific.

The pool has a lazy river with a water slide and zero depth entry. There is also another second pool along with hot tub. There is a restaurant/bar right at the pool.

These are self catering homes...means no room service. You have to provide all your necessities...including toilet paper and soap. But there is a Publix right next door to the property.

If you are interested, I would suggest renting from a private owner. Some of the negative reviews on TripAdvisor are from people who rented through the resort.

I think it is about 9 miles from Disney. You go to the end of 192 which then turns into Route 27. It is about 5 miles up on the right.

Hope this helps you.
Heather
