can someone please tell my mom!!!

So we're going to Florida July 3rd to the 10th and we are still not booked for how we're getting there!! My mom seems to think that they are only getting expensive because gas prices are going up, which can be true, i don't have the authority to say if thats true or not. I can not see myself paying 600+ dollars for a 2.5hr flight to florida. Leaving from Phildelphia flying into MCO, southwest was over 300 both departing and returning. Airtran was a little over $200 going and I found one for $160 returning. I am not in the right means to pay 600 dollars to fly PLUS spending money in Florida, she is, but I'm not and neither are 3 out of the 5 people that are going. I am so ready to book my ticket now and just wait for them to do theirs, but then I most likely won't end up on the same flight as them. I really don't know what to do.

I also have other questions, not about transportation, i really don't want to start another thread so please don't yell at me

one question about the vinnlymation little keychais (i think there adorable and i want one) but we don't plan on going to disney, so my question is if i go to downtown disney can i get one from there? and can i pick which one i want or is it like i just get a box and get what i get?

also my other question does the DIS delete threads?

They have them at DTD. You can choose the one you want, I believe.

Re-check!!! Air-Tran has flights on your days non-stop total $291.41 roundtrip. Southwest has non-stop $250.40 roundtrip.

Did u see that on their personal websites? She's trying to wait to see if my step dad can go, he's a firefighter and doesn't know for sure yet if he's going to be able to get off work. She said maybe the end of april, but will it be up more by then? Those prices u named are very reasonable.

I can't book everybodies since my credit card only has a 500 dollar limit and I don't wanna fly without them because I really don't like flying.

Don't forget to add in any additional baggage and other fees. For example Southwest doesn't charge for checking 2 bags per person. AirTran charges for checked bags. So if you plan on bringing something more than a carryon, just make sure that when you are comparing fares - you are comparing the exact same thing.

Yes, there sites. Airfare fluctuates all the time (mostly up), but there are deals to be had. Do keep in mind as another poster mentioned. Air Tran does charge for checked bags & seats if you pick but they also seem to run more frequent quick sales. Southwest doesn't have these extra charges and are the cheapest right now. No guess as to what the end of April will have but July is holiday so I can't see them staying low.

I guess I am not understanding how to book air fair, because I am on the search engine priceline and it said 270 roundtrip for air tran, then i click choose this deperate and i see choose return for another 270, i don't understand

I would be surprised if fares come down too much before then. So, book when you see a fare you can live with.

And yes, you can buy the keychain vinylmations in DTD..there is a store that is just Vinylmations!!! It's terrific.

And again, yes, the DIS can, and does, delete threads. If you post a duplicate thread, the second one will be deleted. Or if a thread is rude, it can be deleted. As long as poster follow board guidelines, threads are allowed to remain.

Go to specific airline sites!! Priceline, travelocity and Expedia are well known for posting fares that seem low and when you go to purchase them, they suddenly disappear!! You really are much better off using the official airline sites.

I just checked SW, out of Philly, on July 3-10, for 5 people. Leaving Philly at 10:20, non-stop, and then returning to Philly at 8:15am, with one stop..comes to about $245 pp. I don't think that's a bad fare at all.

thats weird becaue when i do the same exact thing for southwest i get fares of $314 going and returning. I looked at priceline and saw airtran 291 roundtrip, adding bags and the cost for seat assignment it came to 317.

Call the credit card company and tell them you need to temporarily raise your limit and explain your situation. I've done this, and they have had no problems with it.
