I have booked POP for Jan 2008, but the CM told me he could not give me the AAA rate because they werent out yet. I was wondering if someone could tell me what their AAA was this year for Value season at a Value (like POP) and at a deluxe (like the CR) so I can have some sort of thoughts on what the discount would be.
I was also looking for the same info. on an AP rate- just wondering if it would be worth it to get one AP if the discount would be good enough.
Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.

Is anyone out there that can help me with an AP rate (for value and deluxe resort) for any value season this year?? :confused3

I too would love to see the $ difference between AP and AAA... I'm interested in a moderate preferred room during value season. Anyone willing to share their cost?

We had a standard room at Pop this last Feb in value season and our AP rate was $59. Remember that AP rates are not guaranteed but we've always had good luck getting one. We have a mod booked end of May which is summer season and our rate is $129 regular season rate would probably be about $10 cheaper or $119.

Thanks G's mommy. Can anyone else help me out with a deluxe rate?? We have POP booked right now, but would love to see if we could swing the CR. Thanks ahead of time

The deluxe AP rate during value season in Jan/Feb was $80 off per room. We paid $249 plus tax for GV at Poly. This is a better deal if you stay at WL or AK. Their standard room rate is lower than Poly.

AP rates during value season have been roughly $20 off value, $45 off mod, $75-$81 off deluxe.
mousesavers lists the AAA rates by season and resort category.

I got an AP rate of $189 at the BC last week of July in 06. They were only offering AP rates at about 3 of the deluxes at that time. BC YC BWI if I recall correctly.

Hi, I am new here could you tell me what a Ap rate is?I have AAA I was planning on using.I also was wondering how you get AAA parking pass? Thanks for whoever can help.

I got the same rate at the Beach club for the last week in August. I did that instead of the free dining.

AP stands for Annual pass. Even though I usually only go to Disney once or year if I'm lucky. I get the AP because of the room discounts it usually allows me to stay deluxe.

hope this does not seem like a dumb question but, do you mean you have to get a annual pass to get this rate? Thanks

AP is annual passholder, you get an AAA parking pass from AAA when you book a package through them.

For years I have toyed with the idea of getting an AP, but I just don't see where the savings is there for us. DH and I go once a year and stay between 10 and 14 days. The savings between the AAA rate and the AP rate for us at CBR would be about $17 a day. That savings would get eaten up by the increase between a 10 day hopper and an AP cost. Add to that the hassel factor of having to wait till AP days are out before booking... What am I missing?

I can see the reasoning for getting an AP if you could go more than once a year. I can see the idea of "timing" our next visit a couple of weeks before the AP runs out. This won't work for us, we go the Saturday after T-day because we like the weather. Don't like going when it is hot and humid, and we have tried the beginning of Nov before and the weather was just too hot and humid for us. Unbelievable what difference those few weeks makes.

Anyway, we do the AAA route. If anyone sees a flaw in my logic I would greatly appreciate it being pointed out to me. I'm not against buying an AP, just don't see the $$'s there for me to switch.

Having been a long-time AP user, I can tell you that a lot of people who have an AP use it not just for the extra trip (which, if you think about it will save an incredible amount of money for that second trip); but also for discounts that sometimes come your way. For example, there are times, not always, that you can grab Cirque du Soleil tickets for $59.00 for two people, or the DDE card which gets you 20% off meals/drinks for up to 6 people at your table; and then there are the discounted resort rooms. It's an added bargain not always available when you want it, but when it is available, the discount is HUGE. So, for that second trip in a year...you wouldn't pay for passes, big savings, you could get a discounted room, i.e., $49 night at Pop, or $105 a night at Wilderness Lodge, or $230 at Grand Floridian garden view, and discounted meals. Yeah,....it's a good thing.

How difficult is it to get your AP rate applied if you booked your room early? For example, if we book a room at the YC now for Feb 2008 and the AP rates come out in October, is it just a matter of a phone call to apply the AP rate, or do you have to cancel one ressie and make another?
