Well I've stopped hemming and hawing over May hours and EMH now that they have come out so I must find something else (besides codes) to anquish about  Soooo my new obsession is where should we eat for our first night? We are staying at the Poly for 3 nights b4 sailing on the Wonder and then coming back to POR for 3 more after. Here is what my PS's look like so far and I have an 11 yr old dd who has been to CRT breakfast twice and Chef Mickey's twice and 1900 PF for breakfast once. Here we go:

5/5 ?????
5/6 Prime Time Cafe Dinner
5/7 Nosh in Epcot/Le Cellier Dinner
5/8 Kona Cafe - leave for Cruise
5/12 Boma Cafe Dinner
5/13 Hoop Dee Doo Revue 7:15
5/14 Eat at Foodcourt or counterservice in MK
5/15 Crystal Palace Breakfast

We have always done Chef Mickey's the first night and was considering going to the Gala Feast but the menu isn't appealing to me much. Maybe with an 11 year old one character meal is enough so where should we eat our first night that won't take too much time away from Magic Kingdom??? I was going to do CP but I want to do breakfast rather than Dinner there from previous reviews?? HELP I'm going on and on and on . . . . LOL

How about Ohana at the Poly? Good food and fun for kids, too. Depending on the time of your PS, you may be able to watch Wishes from your table. Or if you want to eat earlier, you could always go back to the MK on the monorail.

Hi twocat,

We did do Ohana's on our last trip and dd had so much fun with the hula hooping and such but she didn't love the food and it may be too much food for poor, poor mom to eat all by herself LOL. I was thinking of doing Kona but this little nagging thing in the back of my head wants to start my vacation off with a character bang!! Thanks for the suggestion anyone else keep em coming and something will click for me . . . . :cool1:

Are you planning to go to a park that first night?

If not, then how about Ohana's right there at the Poly?

If you would like to "go" somewhere, then how about heading out to DTD for some shopping and dinning at the Rain Forest Cafe? Our DD's like it there when they were younger (still do actually) and they have a menu that will usually please everyone. And if you haven't been, then it is a fun place to try at least once.

Or, have you all ever been to the Clam Bake at the Beach Club? That was pretty fun and it is a buffet so everyone can choose what they would like. Also, a stroll around the lagoon after dinner is always nice. :goodvibes

Great minds think alike Txtink!

If you'll be in the MK the first day, I think Tony's Town Square has a character dinner. Mixed reviews on the food though. Not sure if 1900 Park Faire is breakfast only Character meal.

While Kona is good, it doesn't strike me as anything special. But that's just me.

If you are thinking about a character meal, what about LTT? We had an early dinner PS so it wasn't very busy and we got lots of attention from the characters. So much that I had to tell DD#2 that 10 pictures with Chip and Dale were enough.

My vote. this is always our 1st night b/c we arrive late afternoon and dont want to use PH to go to the parks. You also get a view of Wishes as a bonus.

I'm just tooting hte Ohana horn today!

Liberty Tree Tavern is what I meant, not Tony's Town Square. Hate when that happens!

Another vote for Liberty Tree Tavern. Its right in the middle of MK and its a fun, not loud or crazy character meal.

If you're going to the parks...Liberty Tavern..if not, how about Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge...you can get there by boat to boat and tour the lodge....the antics would be GREAT fun for your kids!

Have a great cruise! :)

Thanks for the replies!! I think I am going to choose LTT for our first night because we are arriving in Orlando at 9:00 in the AM so we are definitely using our park passes and since we're on a land/sea package they give you passes that start immediately. The only other choice would be to go back to Chef Mickey's or try the Gala Feast!! Any thoughts on doing that are welcome? I made a PS for 5:45 PM which should work out perfect as long as dd is cool about going there. Can you believe she said she didn't want to go there because it will remind her of school too much and here is the kicker - I'm pulling her out of school for 7 days to do this trip :earseek:
