I have a rather interesting design for our family shirts, of "Vacation to-do List", with about 9 different images we each selected. (Everyone's is a little different, so there are four similar, but unique, designs.) I am using dark transfers onto gold shirts, and I didn't realize I would have the white background showing.
I have tried using a "fill" colour that matches the shirts behind the designs, but they're too complex and I keep getting white showing. So, my option seems to be to create a border around the collection of images. Let's see if I can remember how to add pics so you can see what I mean.
This is ds's version. (I hope you can see enough of the detail to see what I'm working with...) Thanks to MarneMouse for the Hogwarts and Ohana disigns!
The plan is to bring sharpies and we all will try to check off the things on our shirts. So, I considered a border that somehow uses...check marks or check boxes or something, but I can't get my head around it.

(Yeah. My husband's version actually has even more restaurants, and I told him he was NOT allowed to use the logo from ABC Liquor!
) Scaling isn't great on the upload, sorry, imagine it filling an 8.5 x 11 sheet.
This is our "ice cream calendar" which is going on the back of everyone's shirt. I found some ice cream clipart to go around the edge to make a border so the transition to the white background will look more natural on the gold shirt. I like the way this turned out.

What I need is some way to mark off the edge of the design of the "to do list" so that the transition from the white background to the gold shirt is less abrupt. The design is irregular (the ice cream one was square, which was easier), so...maybe an oval that I can scale around the design? Maybe something that hugs the curves a little? I considered trying to do a "fade" on the edges and print the background colour to match the shirt. Tricky to get a good colour match though. I LOVE, LOVE LOVE the quality of the dark transfers (thank you Amy_Mickey!), but I didn't plan ahead with the idea of the background of white.
I really want to finish the shirts this weekend, so I am just looking for ideas on how to handle it, not an actual design. Any creative minds out there got ideas for me?
