Can someone help- Question about FP+

So I am looking and can someone tell me why there is an option for FP+ for Wishes and the electrical parade? Isn't that available to everyone? We haven't been in 3 years but I sure don't remember needing a fast pass to watch the fireworks before. Has this changed?

It is available to everyone, but the FP+ has a reserved area to watch them from. If you search on FP Wishes or FP parade you can find threads where people who have done it discuss pros and cons.

FP+ for those events gives you a specific viewing spot that is less crowded. You can get there later (theoretically) and have a prime viewing angle, instead of camping out on Main Street for hours. Certainly you can still watch with the masses, but if you are particular about your spot, then FP might be a good way to go.
