I am hoping someone who knows how to use photoshop will be willing to create one picture out of three that I have of my dd to use in a student spotlight for our football program. I have three pictures, two of her on the beach in her cheer uniform, and one of her laughing in her uniform. All three are such cute pictures and we can use up to four. The problem is that I don't know how to create this. It will be a half page so the picture should be about half he size of an iPad. I could send them all in, but I have no idea how thy would set it up. I really want something cute.

If you are willing to help me please let me know and I will email the pictures to you. The only thing is I need this ASAP. They are due by the 11th.

Thanks so much!
Carla

I'd love to! I created all of my sister's football program and pageant ads andwould be willing to give it a shot. I can send you a PDF of the ad so it won't get rasterized (Photoshop is a raster program and will pixilize when enlarged. I'll use Illustrator which is a vector program and won't lose quality). I'll shoot you a PM so we can get started!

Thank you so much! I got your pm and the pictures have been sent! I'm sooooo excited!

I was looking at the quality of the one of her laughing and it's not great. Just do what you think looks cute, with or without it. If you need another picture let me know. Thanks again!

Bringing an image into Illustrator won't make it vector. Only the text and graphics you add in Illustrator will be vector. You still have to stay within the confines of the resolution of the image and make sure that is sufficient for your output size.

I know how to use Photoshop/Illustrator, but thank you for the tips! :)

I meant when adding text, if done in Illustrator and saved as a PDF, it won't be stretched or pixilized as it would if sent in as a JPEG. After years of working with lousy football programs, I've learned how to send in the file so they can't mess it up too bad.

Gotcha. It read like you were saying something different.

I wish I knew how to do these things. I actually have an old photoshop program on my computer but I have never taken the time to learn how to use it. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I can't thank you enough for helping me with this!! If you need another picture or anything please let me know. :)

Okay, I got the pictures and replied to your email - do you know if the ad is in black and white or color? Also, do you have anything in mind you'd like to say, or just something cutesy?

Yes, the add will be in black and white. I sent you an email of what I would like it to say, but you can word it how it looks the best. I had to sent two emails because it wouldn't fit for some reason. I guess because it was sent from iPad.

Victoria emailed the picture and I am so very excited!!!! It's perfect! Thank you again for all of your help! Carla

You learn something new everyday. I would have agreed that if done in Photoshop and saved as a JPEG it would have pixilated the text when enlarged but thought that if you created it in Photoshop and saved as a PDF file, it would have saved the text as vector. As long as you did not flatten the image prior to saving as a Photoshop PDF file. I would have thought the end product of a PDF could have been created under either program without pixilated text.

I probably need to read up more on Photoshop. :)

Text by default is not vector in Photoshop. You can do vector in Photoshop, but it's a whole lot easier in Illustrator.

You could totally do this project as a tiff, jpeg, PSD... etc if you wanted to as well. As long as your finished document is sufficient pixel dimensions for the output size you're good.

I used Illustrator to create a PDF. For anything with text and vectors, I find Illustrator/InDesign a lot quicker and easier to use.

They tell us in architecture school digital design class to always do text in Illustrator. My teacher made a "web" graphic of what to use each program for, so it's kind of drilled into my brain. :rotfl:
