You guys always seem to be able to answer my military questions. Can someone tell how to spell correctly either a "coilist rifle" or "recoilist rifle"

I know nothing about weapons.

Thanks.

Recoilless Rifle

Recoilless Rifles weren't rifles in the traditional sense that most people think of, a shoulder fired weapon usully under .50 caliber. Recoilless Rifles were actually anti-tank weapons.

Thanks for the webiste. I do work with the VA and a lot of times war terms come up or just military terms, and I don't know much about some of them.

Dan, thanks for the site. I just looked at it, and I had to laugh. Really, quite honestly, I am not into guns, hunting, war, etc. And, really, I am quite smart (even after what I'm going to say next) :) But, I know what a rifle looks like. So, someone up above posts that it's a rifle with less kick. So I'm thinking a step up from a BB gun. So, when I looked at the site you gave me I had to laugh. Not exactly what I was picturing :) Good thing I just have to type the stuff and not know what it is.
