Can someone give me the lowdown on how to rent/transfer pts? My first time.

I am rearranging my reservations and if they work out, I might have about 22 points left over after the change. Unfortunately they will be holding points that will expire on Sept 30, 2005. I would like to know what the "routine" is for making the rental or transfer. With such a small amount I would probably think that a transfer would make more sense.

Do I make the transfer first, then get paid or the other way around? I would be more at ease getting paid first. Would using Paypal be a good route? I would only accept instant bank transfer in that situation. If the renter has to send a check, what is better, cashier or certified?

Most of you veterans have probably been in this situation before and I welcome all suggestions and advice.

Thank you!

If the points are in HOLDING, they CANNOT be transferred. You can still make a reservation for someone though. As for getting paid, that will be between you and the renter to work the details, but get a deposit after the reservation is made, and if they don't pay, cancel the reservation.

Good Luck,

Actually, holding points can be transferred, but only IF before they became holding points, they were regular or "virgin" points.

They cannot be banked or borrowed points that became holding points.

It may take several calls to MS or you may need to speak to a supervisor to get it done, but holding points can indeed be transferred. Refer to the link in my sig for more info about Points Transfers. HTH!
