I am trying to understand the Disney Dining plan. Can someone explain it to me?
One quick service meal, one selected snack, one meal at a selected table service meal.

Sounds like you've got it! The credits are per person, per night, about 100 choices throughout the parks. TS includes appetizer, entree, beverage, and dessert. CS entree, dessert, beverage. Snacks=too many to count :)

It is a great deal, my DH loves not having to worry about meal cost once we get there!

All people in your party get 1 of each for each night of your stay.

The snack can be things such as bottles of water, ice cream, pop corn, and other items at the parks and resorts.

Counter service are the food place around the parks and food courts at the resorts.

Table service are the restaurants in the parks, resorts and DTD. Most participate but I think there might be a few that do not.

I think there's good information included in the papers you get when you check in about the DDP.

We never not use the dining plan. It's the simplest way to dine in WDW. You and each guest in your party will receive the following everyday:

1 Table Service - basically, sit-down dining where you'll be served; you get appetizer, entree, dessert, non-alcoholic beverage (even the kids get an appetizer)

1 Counter Service - you serve yourself; you get entree, dessert, non-alcoholic beverage

1 Snack - these are fruits, beverages, popcorn, ice-creams, etc.

You do not have to use each one each day. Say you're staying for 4 days...well, you will get 4 of each per person. You could have 2 TS in one day. You could use all of your snacks in one day. It really doesn't matter how you use them. You'll just receive 4 TS, 4 CS, 4 Snacks per person. There are some restaurants/shows where you would have to use up 2 TS in order to dine there. You can go to WDW site and get all the information and the participating restaurants. You should definitely plan your dining well before you leave to go to WDW.

I love the dining plan. Try to make your TS reservations for evening meal, you'll get more "bang for your buck" that way and be able have a really fancy, expensive meal for not much $$.

The worst part of the deal is the snacks. We sometimes divide up a CS meal as snack since the snacks go quick. All in all I think it is a fab. deal and will continue to use it from now on.

DH also loves it. Oh, and they have started counting the meals as kids or adults so it isn't just a total number of meals. Still works great, just be aware of that!;)
