Can someone explain the rates to me?

I booked May 28-June 1 at POFQ. I got the dining plan and free hopping, which I do not want or need. My price was just over $1,700. That's in my budget. However, the new code came out, and I saw that you can save 25% off deluxe resorts, and my dates are flexible. We'd much rather stay at Wilderness Lodge. If I booked that for 4 nights in early May, say the 13 - 17, what could I expect to pay? I was on Disney's website, and for those days at WL, WITHOUT dining, it said just over $2,000! Where does the discount come in? I'm really confused. That seems excessive for 4 nights. Is it $400 a night???? I'm assuming $600 is for the 5 day tickets.
Someone please explain the rates to me. Isn't May 13 regular season?
Thanks.

OK, not knowing your family size, I put in 2 adults and 2 children for May 13-17 at WL w/ dining plan and 5 day base tix. There is availability for the code in a woods view or courtyard view bunk bed. Woods view package is the least expensive option, at a total of2098.72.

Same package at POFQ is $1828.72.

Again, this is for 2A, 2C, so your price may be more or less depending on your family size or ticket preferences.

HTH! :)

Hi. Thanks. We have one child. She's 3. Does that price include the ZHE discount?

Yes, this is with the discount.

2A 1C at WL woods view from 5/13-5/17 with dining plan and 5 day base tix is $1873.62.

Same trip at POFQ is $1603.62.

Rack for the trips would be: WL, $2283.14 and POFQ $1720.66. So the savings are far greater at the deluxes.

Fionasmommy - I was wondering if you could help me as well. I just called to see if the ZHE code would be cheaper for us and the Disney agent told me that it wasn't cheaper (she wasn't the most helpful individual!)

We would love to stay at a Deluxe (like WL or AKL). Here's what we currently have:

4/28 - 5/4 at POR with Dining and free hopper and water park option. (we would like to keep the hoppers, but can do away with the water parks). 2 adults, 2 kids for a grand total of $2,652.20. I would be willing to pay a little more to stay at a deluxe.

Can you figure out if the deluxe would be worth it for us and how much of a difference would it be?

I thank you in advance for any help you can give!!!! :thumbsup2

Sure!

2A 2C at POR for 6 nights (4/28-5/4) in a standard room with dining and 7 day hoppers would be $2530.96.

I'm not pulling up any availability at WL for those dates, but the same package in a standard at AKL would be $2767.24.

HTH! :)

:lmao: I had that same exact woman this afternoon! She told me I was so much better off with what I had, even though I told her all we wanted was hopping. I just called back and got a very helpful, friendly young man, he told me what was out there for my days. I polled our family then called back and switched over. I would have saved $31 by switching from WL CY to CR wing. I added an extra day of hoppers for 3A & 1C for ~$240 more. :rotfl2:

If you don't want dining, have them take it off. You'll save about $350.

Unfortunately, that's a correct price for WL. :( I was booked there on the old package with the hopping and water parks and my room price was well over $300 a night. Made me sick, concidering I have stayed there in the past for $169 a night during regular season. I just changed to the new code and switched over to CR, dropped the water parks part, kept hopping and added another day of tickets for $210 more than I was paying for WL and two days tickets. Rates have truly become ridiculous if you don't have a discount. I am so thankful for this board. I rememebr when I used to book rack rate unless I happened to get a postcard (haven't seen one of those in years :( ). I actually had booked CBR at rack a few years back, then due to the cost and an unexpected tax bill, cancelled and stayed offsite. If I had only known about discount codes then!

Can someone please check my package price with code ZHE too? I've also received inconsistent answers. My existing reservation is discounted -- I think it's the 40% off lodging code (ZFC?) but it was already the system linked to my name so I'm not positive.

2A,2C (both age 7) at WL, courtyard view, 4/25-4/30, 4 day base tickets plus dining, for $2707 not including airfare.

One CM told me the new code would increase the price to over $5K (which is higher than the rack rate!) and another CM said the price would stay the same. Anyone get a different answer?

Thanks -- and thanks for all the tips I've learned from lurking.

Laurie

40% off would definitely be the better rate. This is only 25% off selected Deluxe accommodations. I can't see how the new package would benefit you at all.

No availability at WL or AKL w/ the code on those dates - though it wouldn't hurt to call because sometimes they seem to magically have rooms that don't show up online.

For comparisons sake, that trip at Saratoga Springs or Old Key West would be
$2518.80.

Thank you - it was so kind of you to do this. I'm looking forward to going even if I can't get a better price!

Laurie, ask if you can have inner courtyard view. This was the view from room 6039:

Thanks!! I decided to call this morning and got a so very helpful CM and she checked all available deluxes for my dates and gave me the best price at AKL. So we booked it for $100 more than our POR pkg. Everything is the same (DDP, 5day hoppers - dropped the water park option). We're excited. First time staying in a deluxe!!!!

Whoo hoo! Deluxe is soooo much better than a moderate!

Fionasmommy: could you please tell me what you do on the website to see how much it would be with the codes? Is it a special spot where you type inthe code or just a special link to the deal? Thanks!!!!!

I use the Disney travel agent site, so I'm able to see prices with the different codes. I don't know if it's on the public WDW site yet, but if not I'm sure it will be soon!
