I've read the description in my Passporter, but still don't have a clue what it's all about. Our DDs are 11 and 13 and we were wondering if a trip here would be fun for them. Also, does anybody have first-hand knowledge of the Comedy Warehouse?

Some things are just best left experienced, and not explained! I think the Adventurers Club fits in that category perfectly.

my DH and i absolutely love the adventurer's club.. we could (and have) spend the whole night in there.. my husband always describes it as an old timey gentlemens' club similar to a hunting club.. there is a club president, curator, butler, maid etc.. all these characters walk around and just perform little skits throughout the night.. there are different rooms these skits take place in, such as the mask room, or the library.. it is absolutely hilarious.. i personally love it.. there are also different things on the walls that come to life and talk to everyone.. such as the colonel, the big egyptian mask.. etc..

if you go at the beginning of the night the 11 and 13 yr old might find it interesting.. we went a couple of years ago with then two 11 yr olds.. and they enjoyed it.. however, as the night goes on, it takes on, shall we say.. a more adult environment.. for example.. one time there was only 1 chair available to sit and my husband sat down and i sat on his lap.. and the next thing i know the colonel came to life and is commenting on how my DH is working me like a puppet.. :hyper:

granted some kids would never pick up on the subtle things they say sometimes, but it can go down that road occasionally..

the comedy warehouse is really funny also.. again, the earlier in the night you go, the cleaner it stays.. we usually go to the first show at the comedy warehouse and then head over to the adventurer's club.. we were just there last weekend and the first show at the comedy warehouse was at 8:20..

also as already mentioned check out www.allearsnet.com it is explained really well..

have fun!!

my kids liked the adventurers club a lot when they were that age......now at the ripe old age of 17 and 20, they don't like it anymore.....
however, my kids still very much like the comedy warehouse (first show)...

Is there an additional charge to get into The Advernturer's Club and the Comedy Warehouse? Or is the charge just to get in to Pleasure Island? Cover charge? Thanks.

Thanks for all of your help. Sounds a little bizarre, but interesting and fun. My girls love "Who's Line is it Anyway?" so I think they'll enjoy the spontaneity of the Adventurer's Club. As for the more adult references, most of that goes over their heads.

Okay, I'm totally missing something. I just don't get the Adventurer's Club. I adore most improv, including Whose Line, and even that tiny stage in the Wonders of Life pavilion cracked me up. But I thought the Adventurer's Club was really stupid! Haven't decided whether to give it a second try, but we will definitely be hitting the comedy club for the first time next month!

Petula, did you take in the library shows or just sit in the salon? I'm just curious how much you did or didn't see on your previous visit. Of course not everything appeals to everyone, so it may just not be your cup of tea. My parents dont' "get" improv, and when I took my mom to the Comedy Warehouse she said, "I don't understand why it's funny." Well how do you explain why something is funny? Either you think it is or you don't. :) I don't consider the AC to be improv in the vein of CW or Whose Line, so I'm going to take my mom to the AC and hope that I don't have to explain that to her too :p
