I don't know of many food courts at WDW that you can order a prime rib or ribeye steak dinner. If you are on the DDP, everything (all meals) are included too along with the 10% gratuity.

It's just a food court with some little extras and a different order of doing things. Dont let posts about it being difficult or the idea of a waitress and a tip scare you. Think simply and dont make it harder than it is.

(1) Go into restaurant get seated, give drink orders, obtain card.
(2) Go to the station you wat and order your food
(3) have card stamped
(4) When plate is ready take it and go to the next station.
Since we were the only people in the restaurant when I arrived for a 1:00
lunch, I ordered at each place then went back to pick up everything.
Steaks take a while to cook.
(5) When you have all the food you need, sit at your table and eat
(6) Waitress is supposed to refill your glass, this may or may not happen
(7) When you are done eating pay at the exit, the stamped card is like your bill.

Because more of the food is cooked to order you may have to wait longer for your food and may have to move to a differnt side of the stand for your food...there was no one else when I was there so I didnt have to but others have alluded to this. Many people dont like having to get in a line to pay on the way out. They seem to view this as an extra line. However at other food courts that line is there, between getting food and eating it. I like paying after because it is one less line I have to stand in while waiting to eat my food. A downside is you have consumed it before you figure out you read the sign wrong or it doesnt qualify for ddp or whatever - always ask.

As much as people say it is different and a pain I just don't see the issues:
ASMo - get in line a order food wait cause they are out of hot dogs, get in line b order food, get in line c order food get in check out line and pay, then eat. It's always a madhouse. Pick your poison scramble for a seat when you have your food or before and have some of your party wait while you get it all.

Pepper market - get seated and given a card. Go to line a order food, Go to line b order food, Go to line c order food. Go back to each line and pick up food...if it is busy you probably want to stay at each station till your food is ready, take your food and eat, go pay. Big Differences (1) you are seated and have your drinks brought by a waitress (2) for this waitress service you pay a 10% tip (3) you have a card to get stamped (4) more of the foods are made to order (5) You pay when you leave.

Can someone explain the desserts available on the DDP? I've read Tier 1, but exactly what are they and are they clearly marked before you pick them out?

I **think** they are in kind of a normal bakery case with shelves. Tier one would be shelf one. However I just asked the lady behind the case what I was allowed to have. To many people had said they got something then it wasn't allowed.

a large cookie, a muffin or a slice of cake. Not sure if they are marked or not.

If you're on the dining plan, you probably won't care about the tip. If you're paying OOP, the tip comes across as insulting. I agree, the system isn't complex, but it does slow down at times and is more annoying than it has to be.

What may be insulting to you is not to me. I don't have an issue of paying 10% gratuity for the service I receive. The gratuity is shared among all the staff including the chefs. The host seats me so in the busy times, I don't have to hunt for a table with my heavy tray. The server gets my drinks, refills, condiments and coffee if I like at the end of my meal. They also bus the table at the end of the meal. I don't have a problem with it one bit. It's well worth it. I don't know of another WDW food court where I can get a prime rib or ribeye steak either. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for the Pepper Market in MY book.

I agree about the prime rib and ribeye steak. The part I don't like is paying a gratuity when I'm doing all the work, except for drinks. Frankly, I'd rather save the money and get my own drinks, yet that's not an option here.

Kevin, guests have the option of getting their meals "TO GO" and avoid paying the 10% gratuity. There are some nice tables outside on the promenade to eat. Just ask the host/hostess for a "TO GO" ticket which is stamped with "TO GO". That allows guests to have access to the PM without the mandatory tip. I've taken meals to the main pool to eat or even back to the room as well.

I think of it like going to a Hometown Buffet or Chinese Buffet. I do all the work outside of the drinks and table bussing but I always leave them a tip as well.

If you have a server that is not up to snuff, you can always speak to the manager and the tip 10% will be removed at checkout.

Thank you.

We wanted to try it, but wasn't sure and have already made all of our ts adr's. This means we can have a late lunch one day and get the most out of cs credit.

I've got a couple of questions, does everyone in your party get a card to be stamped and then you just pay the lot at the end? Also does the CM fill your refillable mugs if you're using them?

Thanks.

Yes, everyone gets a card to stamp. You don't have to use all the cards but you do have to turn them in at the register. Yes, the CM's fill and refill you mugs as well.

We were only given one card....maybe the cm asked if we wanted separate and dh told her no when I was trying to move the kids along, but I know we only had one card.

Thanks Buzz, can you still refill your own mug too though?
