Can someone explain CVSing - I dont get it!

Each store can decide - many put the price after ECB, some will write "free" on free-after-ECB items and a limit. Some will only put the sale price now because they've been taken advantage of by people trying to double-up in the week (getting a raincheck on Sunday and either going to another store or coming back when the truck comes in).

If it's Friday or Saturday (or the end of the month for monthly deals), I would think that most stores would write the price after ECB. I'd have the ad in hand when I asked for one.

Pretty much as long as the cashier makes it clear what the sale is, they will be able to give you the same deal when you come back. However, there is no way to make the register print extra bucks.

Well! Look who is here. Are you going to start CVSing?

We got another one:lmao: :lmao:
She is so going to be hooked by the end of summer:lmao:
I was shocked you had not gotten her hooked on CVS yet. I told her you must be slipping.:lmao: :lmao:

She share and plays well with others.:lmao: :lmao:
Do you go to CVS today?

No I hope to make it there tomorrow. If not it will be Wednesday since we will be traveling on Tuesday. I do know where there is 1 CVS right off I 81 so it might be Tuesday.

There are 3 CVS locations right around where I live. I have decided to combine inspirational threads that I have been following here on the DIS. I will learn the art of CVSing, and I will learn it well, which will help me save money and give me items I actually need and extra product . Then I will take this extra product and put it in my yard sale. I will use the proceeds from that to pay on my snowball debt plan. I will make certain however that I do not stray from the decluttering of my home and so will freecycle and donate to charity if I become so good that I have too large a stockpile. This sounds a bit tongue in cheek, but I am serious and I am so thankful that I found the DISboards. The only problem with this scenario is that I have to actually get off the DISboards, do my research, and get in the car. I'm soooo addicted to this!! :goodvibes

I am heading to CVS again today as I have a training right near it! I'm hooked ! DD was impressed with my buys yesterdaay. My fav was Duracell for 7c!!

Help, help, help, please. I have going to the Budget Boards for quite some time, getting freebies, hints, codes, and sharing my little knowledge. I am trying so hard to becoming a thrifty CVS person, and I understand about the ECB thingies, but I am so lost as to my points. I wrote CVS because I did not know I had an expiration date on my points, which expired mid-June, and I found my account which stated I had 110.56 points, and this is what they wrote back:

The points shown on your account is the amount of money you have spent during the quarter. At the end of the quarter, you are issued 2% or .50 cents for every $25.00 you spend on front store merchandise. This is issued in coupon form at the bottom of your receipt, which you can use back at CVS just like regular cash. The next print start date for the reward Extra Bucks is 07/01/2008; and
The End date for the points is not when they expire, it is when the spring spending quarter has ended. The coupon from the 2% back of your spring spending will print for you on your next register receipt.

I have been to CVS twice in July, and I don't see anything like they are talking about above. The only thing I have had on my receipt are my ECB stuff and some $ off on purchases of CVS products. Please, please, please help this CVS newbie with her points that expired.

Have you gotten any coupons printed at the bottom of your slip?

CVS has a quarterly spending ECB program. You get 2% back of the actual out-of-pocket money you spent for the quarter (excluding some items). You also get $1 for every 2 prescriptions you fill in the quarter.

The first time you shopped at CVS after June 30th, you should have an ECB print for $2 on your receipt (or more if you filled more than 2 prescriptions in the quarter). It looks a little different than most ECBs, it usually has a black band printed on the top. These quarterly spending ECBs have an expiration date of 6 weeks from July 1 (regular ECBs have a 4 week expiration date from date of purchase).

Many people think that it's an ECB for an item they bought. They can also print at the scanner/coupon printer if you happen to use that before you check out at a register the first day they are issued.

Many people also think they are getting the amount that is listed, but it's 2% back of that amount (in $25 increments). If you spent $49.98, you would only receive 50 cents. If, in the future, you get a coupon emailed to you for "triple ECBs," the quarterly spending amount triples on your receipt and you receive 2% back of that amount.

If you are sure that you didn't receive one and didn't spend it, then you can also print yours directly from the CVS.com site. First, log in with your card number, zip code and last name.

You will see a section that says "Current Coupons." It will list your ECB amount for Spring Spending and there will be a link that says "access now."

This program is very confusing to people and it's not that great. If you shop and have low out-of-pocket, then you are lucky to get 50 cents each quarter (unless you fill many prescriptions).

They print out as an ECB, so you might not have even noticed them, got them and used them already.

I'm annoyed with cvs right now over the quarterly rewards. I have only been cvsing since early June. So, I had only spent $17.xx in the spring quarter. I didn't receive any quarterly rewards. It is only after I called that I found out that you need to spend a minimum of $25 to receive any rewards. Why isn't this noted somewhere on their website or on the paperwork that came with my card?
