I am not going till 2009 but I put in the dates for 2008 at the week of Thanksgiving to see prices and it came back no camp site are available. With the 500 days in advance rule within that and they are already booked when exactly do you book for the week of Thanksgiving? :confused3

Welcome to the world of trying to book ressies for Ft. Wilderness at holiday time. My best advice is to call directly to Cent. Reservations and not use the on-line reservations. You may have to put Cent. Res. on your speed dial and call...call...call! With patience, you will probably end up with the dates you are looking for. It just takes a LOT of patience!

I've tried on-line & calling to get ressies for next Thanksgiving...no luck so far & I've been doing so for about a week.

Thanksgiving is a typically very full time at the Fort. It's very possible that it booked up right around the 500 day mark!

I understand your frustration. We have been trying for Dec. '08 and got 3 nights in and then have been unable to extend the stay since. We have been calling everyday, up to 4 x's with no success. We are trying the week before Christmas. I would keep trying, calling this early I would think you could get in. I am not giving up yet.

I agree with "welcome to the FW ressie's" I didn't think it would be this frustrating. This is our first visit to the Fort and we are looking soooo forward to it if we can get our whole week reserved. :goodvibes

Anotehr thing to try. ask for more days than you need. You really wan 5, then ask for 7 or 8. You can always call ack and "reduce" the numer of nites in your stay.

On several occasions when all I wanted was 4 days, I could never get a rese4vation. ut, ask for 7 or 8 and the days (including my original 4) were available. :confused3

Maybe you should try using Dreams Unlimited (link at top) or contacting Rhonda directly...she hangs around the boards...they seem to have a magical way of getting reservations and you won't have to spend all that time calling and calling and calling.:goodvibes

I am going to be in the same boat as the original poster. I will be making June 2009 reservations and I know I have to make them in January 2008. I too am worried that I will not be able to book. To me, it will be a really hassle to keep calling as my job, does not allow me the flexibility to make call after call.

Someone mentioned Dreams Unlimited. Does Dreams unlimited charge the same price? or is there a commission fee added?

Thanks

Never a fee or commission!! We always get the lowest-possible price when you book, and keep looking for discounts until you travel! :cool2:

WOW - What a quick reply!! I was just reading the other thread that you said you DO book campsites!! I assume you would need our info prior to the 500 day point. I am not a AAA member, but used to be and they keep bugging me to come back. Would it be bennificial for me to get that again. Or is there something else better? I do work for a health care organization (if anything there) and I am a paid part time firefighter. Just giving some possible things I have received discounts (at other places) for in the past.

Thanks Rhonda!!

I DEFINITELY will do that - now that I know they do those sort of things (campsites). Thanks, everybody!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

When we get closer to January, just email me your information. :) It's always good to start with the AAA discount. Then, as the date gets closer and Disney opens up other discounts, we can replace the AAA one. But, if they don't open up any other discounts, at least you have the AAA one. (Did that make any sense? LOL)

I have called the reservation line every single day to try to book Dec 21th onward. I honestly have spent at least 15-20 hours on the phone. I cant take it anymore. I call every day at 7:15-30ish when the lines open. Then I call again in the afternoon or evening. I call and try to book one night at a time. I try to book 3 nights. I try 7 days. I try 10 days. I even try 20 day bookings. Every cast member gives me a different story. One minute they say "it is full already." Another cast member says "it has not been released." Others say that full hook up sites are released "13 months out." Everyone sounds so sure. I dont know who to believe. I even speak to supervisors, customers service and even tried speaking to the front desk for advice. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I wish Disney would be honest and clear on how they REALLY release these sites. Saying you can book 499 days out is really dishonest and I am starting to get a sourtaste in my mouth. Every cast member reservation person gives me different answers. Some of THEM are even fusterated. Again, I am starting to feel betrayed. This is especially true since we have invested so much of our hearts, money and time into Disney. We even bought our motorhome, golf cart, premium annual passes and inflatables JUST for Disney. All I want is an honset and true answer...thats all. What do you all think?????
