Ok, I have read about the vouchers and do understand how they work. However, I am reading lots of different info about buying them. Some people are calling Lillian Vernon (thru an 800 # right) and signing up thru Connections that way. Then they get a membership packet from Connections and order the vouchers thru Lillian Vernon and never have to speak directly with the people at Connections. So far so good?

Others are signing up thru Hotwire and doing the same thing right? Or are they having to contact Connections themselves to order the vouchers?

Others are ordering them thru a Fl site (?) and paying $2.75 more for them but don't have to deal with the hassle of joining Connections.

I'm not sure why it is so difficult to deal with Connections, I had joined them in past when I was doing more rewards programs and had no problem cancelling my membership when I wanted to. Seems like others are having for problems with them now, correct?

For those who have ordered them, do you think they are worth the hassle (if you had a hassle) and would you get them again?

Lastly, if anyone wants to sell any leftover Q & C vouchers just PM or email me as I am getting more confused by the minute-lol!!!

im still trying to figure out is the Connections vouchers and the and the Q & C vouchers the same thing. And would it be benifical for two very hungery adults.
love that thread about big eater cant seem to find it

I ordered from Connections through Lillian Vernon and had NO problems.

I think that many people are ordering through Lillian Vernon and Hotwire because you get a month free then a monthly fee. If you do Connections directly then it is a month for $1 then an annual fee all at once. Some have said it is $79.95 and others mentioned 139.95.

Also people talk about Connections staff being incompitent to an extend and try to push a hard sell to remain in the program.

I joined through LV and had no problems. I called Connections after three days to get my member number then placed my order online. It arrived in two days. Had to be here to sign for it. Then called Connections after a week or so and cancelled. No hard sell no pressure and not mistaken charges on my credit card.

Hope that it helps you with your decision.

Connections sell the Q&C as well as Breakfast and lunch vouchers. Most of the Q&C are counter serve and you usually save a couple dollars (you have to watch or you may actually pay more with the voucher $11.50 cost) The lunch vouchers are $30.50 and breakfast I believe are $19.00. Connections can sometimes run smooth and other times it can be a nightmare. I've had okay experiences with them. I've never gotten the extra stuff you are supposed to get (ie: $20.00 dining rebate with the L.Vernon and last time it was supposed to be a gas gift card).

Check the thread at the top of the page for more info, but here is a general overview.

This was the info on Mousesavers back in ’02 before it was pulled...here's verbatim what it used to say, with updated prices and exp. dates. This will give you the idea:

"Quick & Casual" Meal Vouchers
Each Quick & Casual voucher costs $11.50 and is valid for a full
counter service lunch or dinner at a participating restaurant
location at the WDW resort. With each voucher you can order your
choice of one of the following: one combo meal (entree, side dish
and beverage) and one dessert, OR one entree, one side dish (if not
included in the entree), one dessert and one non-alcoholic beverage
Tax and gratuity (if any) are included. Alcoholic beverages, frozen
drinks and souvenir drink mugs are not included. Current vouchers
being issued expire 5/31/04. You will almost always come out at
least even on the Quick & Casual vouchers. At many of the locations,
the vouchers can save an adult (or a kid with a big appetite) money
at many of the locations, especially those in the theme parks. Rule
of thumb: if you would be spending at least $10.75 for the meal
before tax, using a voucher will be a good deal, because tax (and
tip, if applicable) is included. Also, many of the combo meals are
big enough that two people could share one and just purchase an
additional drink (and possibly an additional side order).

Participating locations (subject to change) are listed below. Good

No, not exactly accurate... you are still buying the vouchers from Connections, and unless you order on-line, you would need to speak to a Connections rep. You are only signing up through LV and paying the monthly rate that goes with the LV signup.

Ok-thanks for clearing it up everyone! I now understand "why" people are choosing to sign up thru Hotwire or LV instead of Connections directly. Makes sense-every dollar saved is another to spend at WDW.

I meant to post that I understand how they work (how to redeem them) I just wasn't getting the whole point of going thru a third party to sign up for connections.

Thanks again!

For those that have used the Q&C vouchers I have a question? Here goes --- I was checking menus and wondered how they handle this type of thing with the voucher - at Peco Bill's you can order a cheeseburger and it comes with fries not a drink. So does that count as a combo meal or entree with side then get dessert. HELP! Confused. I'm trying to see if the vouchers are worth it for my family.

At rest. that don't have combo meal it seems the vouchers work out better.

I have been wondering about that too. We get sooo tired of fries! For example at Pizza Planet there is a combo meal of pizza and salad and also pizza and salad sold seperately. Seperately they are more expensive but are the portions larger? If so the voucher is a good deal, if not the combo meal is less. It is hard to know what is the better deal.:)

First off I must admit I'm not an expert & this will be my first time using vouchers (in Oct) but another Diser that lives in my town is and has thoughly explained the process to me, even down to what food to eat at what places. This is my understanding:

3 types of vouchers:
Q&C $11.25 good for lunch & dinner
Breakfast Meals (for all breakfast incl. Character meals) $17.75A, $11.C
Kingdom Lunch Vouchers: $30.50A, $12.75C- this are only good at lunch time hours in the "higher end" places, Rainforest, Brown Derby etc (see list above)

all are sold thru connections or other 3rd party (Hotwire, Simple Escapes etc.)L.V. you purchase from Connections directly.

Combo meals: Q&C vouchers = 1entree, 1side, 1drink & dessert
if you order a "Combo meal"- most places count that as a entree& side. You'll still get a drink & dessert. So I believe (again I maybe wrong) that if you order "al a carte" that it should be honored as printed on the voucher. I would order it like this : " for my entree I'll have a Pizza, for my side I'll have a salad, for dessert & drink .... etc. I know it sounds like I'm being really "basic" when ordering but then the CM can't say I was the one that ordered wrong. I was clear & I was specific. Then you get the bigger portions & who cares how WDW rings up in the cash register.

MaMudduck - Thanks that helps. I was confused since the vouchers say combo meal and dessert or entree, side, dessert and drink. I was thinking they would use the meal I described hamburger and fries as the combo thing and would have to buy the drink. I think I got it. I do not know if these will work for us. I read somewhere that you need spend at least 10.75 for it to be a good deal.

From everything I understand I really think the worst you could do is "break even".
The main reason I'm using them is that, dd(8) and I share meals normally (she isn't a big eaters)
Last year when we went 2 Adults &1child we really ate well with 2 adult meals.
I've heard from everyone here on the Dis that the value at Beaches & Cream and Pepper Market means great savings with Q&C vouchers. I does mean you need to do some planning - where you going to eat, which days etc. And for some families that would rather "wing it" in the park might not feel they get their monies worth at some of the parks counter service.
