I keep hearing in so many posts about how great the Beingets are at POFQ and was hoping someone could describe them for me. Does anyone have a picture of one. Thanks Ron.....

Beingets are "French doughnuts" without the hole. They are small and shaped like pillows. Very light and fluffy. Excellent with coffee.

Here's a picture:

They're best if you can purchase them hot from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans, but you can order the mix from their website.

The next closest thing (that you might be familiar with) is a sopapilla.

Thet taste just like zeppole's(?). Thats if you have ever had one of those. Except they are hollow in the middle.

The beignets at POFQ are really good - light and sugary!! You gotta try 'em!!
(But if you really want good beignets - you've got to get them from Cafe DuMonde!!!)

Nothing like eating them at the Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans with a cup of chicory Cafe au Latte! Makes me want to leave for New Orleans right now! I didn't know they had them anywhere in Disney. Thanks for the tip. I'll definately have to try them next trip. Yet another reason why WDW is so great !!

Try some with the powdered sugar and some without. They are two very different tastes. For me, the amount of sugar is way too much, but I know that's how most people like it.

OOOOOOHHH They are just AWSOME!!
I tried them for the first time in the Underground in Atlanta many years ago. Now I am hooked.

I was SO not impressed with them!

I am used to sopapillas, here in New Mexico. They were like them except covered in powdered sugar and extremely tough! And these were fresh! Yuck. They went in the trash.

Glad there are people that do like them. You can have my share!::yes::

I just had some from New Orleans last weekend, and some at POFQ about 4 weeks ago - and they are not even comparable!! The Cafe Du Monde ones are SOOOOOOOO much better!

-Having said that - the POFQ ones are okay - more like a regular, square, hollow donut with LOTS of powdered sugar. I liked the POFQ ones alot more before I had the Cafe Du MOnde ones! (I had the Cafe du Monde ones years ago - but had forgotten how yummy they were!).

Thanks everbody for your replys. Now that I know what Beingets are I will have to try one next time we are at WDW. If we ever get to New Orleans we will be sure to try them there also.

Can you get Cafe au' Lait there?

And also - where in POFQ do they sell these?
