Can somebody explain how Photopass works?

Sorry, I should have been paying better attention to other posts about it!
Last January when I was in DL, I never saw one PP photographer. Where can you find them? Do they get rid of them when the park is super busy? I swear I didn't see one the whole time I was there. I would like to get some photos this trip, but don't know anything about how the PP thing works.

I haven't been to DL yet so I can't tell you where they are, but at WDW they are everywhere. All up and down main street heading toward the castle if the biggest herd of them. They are all just standing around with cameras. They are also outside the entrance, taking pictures in front of the train depot. You just approach one and tell them it's your first time. They'll scan a photopass card and give it to you. Then they'll take your pictures. Those pictures will get added to the account associated with the number on the card. Take a picture of the card number or write it down somewhere so that if you lose that card later, you still can access the pictures on it.

When you see the next photographer you want to take a picture with, just give them that same card. If you have a group of people and they'll be splitting up, you can get multiple cards so that everyone can be adding. When you get home, you'll go onto the photopass website and enter all the card numbers onto your account. All the pictures taken with those cards will show up and you can add borders and such to them. You can order specific prints or you can purchase the cd, which comes with the copyright release.

It's really easy to do. During busy times, there may be several families waiting for a single photographer, but they are pretty quick. Anxious to see if someone tells you where, exactly, they are at DL, as we'll be there soon.

On our Thanksgiving trip I saw them on Main street, near every Christmas tree anywhere, in front of the partners statue, in front of the castle, on PP looking toward the roller coaster, in front of the golden gate bridge, outside DCA by the letters, overlooking Tom Sawyer's Island. Last trip I saw some on the street where animation is, and in front of Tower of Terror. Also in GCH in front of their tree.

Oh the best one! We got the picture in front of TSI this time where I am holding a sword and fighting Captain Hook.

There was a post while back with all of the spots... let me see I think I cut and paste it, let me see if I can find it... here it is...

Oh yeah, how do you get the pp card? Is there a website to sign up? I heard about people paying in advance and getting a better price on cd, is that true?

The better price is for WDW only $99.95 instead of $129.95 which is way more than DLR which is $59.95-$66.95 inc. shipping.

I prepaid for my WDW PP but then since we also went to DLR after our WDW trip, I only had to pay the $66.95 for all (total 2180 pix!).

You'll get your PP card from the first PP photo who takes your picture. Here's a hint-write your phone number on the card with a Sharpie and take a picture of the back of the card (cel phone or dig. camera) just in case you lose your card. Also you can get as many cards as you want. This works well if you have alot of people in your group and you won't all be together at the same time.

No. For DLR, most of us just order the CD when all the pictures are taken. It is $59.95 plus $7.00 shipping, and most of us are not charged tax. And you can save hundreds of images or have hundreds of photos taken and saved on that one CD for the same price, so it is a good deal!

Sherry is right. There's no reason (I don't think you even can) prepay for Disneyland. Only WDW. If you want to check out the site-it's disneyphotopass.com and you can see what products they offer once you get your pix taken.
