Can/Should I put myself on reservation if I am not going?

I booked a 1 BR villa at Kidani next month for my daughter and 3 of her friends. I also listed myself in addition to the four of them on the reservation, but I will not be going. Is this allowed? Is there any benefit of also having me on the ressie since I am the DVC member? Any cons to doing this? They are all 18+, so they should be able to check-in themselves as I understand. Thank you.

As an owner you'll be able to speak to MS about the reservation anytime whether you're on it or not. If you were going to be there and staying in a different room it would allow you to speak to the resort desk about the reservation but since you won't be there I don't see any benefit of being on the reservation. It's not going to hurt anything but it really does nothing.

You can keep track of anything they charge to the villa if you are on the reservation. Especially if you are providing the credit card to put on the account.

I can’t think of a reason why you would need to remove yourself. You can do online check-in and your daughter and her friends should be able to go straight to the room without ever interacting with anyone.

Here’s an example of something that happened to me.
I was lead guest and physically there. My daughter and her boyfriend were with us. My daughter had one of my credit cards, but her boyfriend used his own credit card for room charges to the Magic Band. His bank declined the card. The concierge folks sent me a discreet note on the day of checkout apprising me of the situation. I was able to go downstairs and clear up his bill. If I had not been there, I am not sure what would have happened.
I would set up your daughter as lead guest, so if any decisions need to be made on the spot, she can handle them, and she can contact you if she needs help.

Thanks for that.
