Can Saddam get into heaven?

If he is truly sorry even if at the last moments before his death then he will but if he doesn't care he going into a not so nice place truely its for God to decide and who knows what God will decide we'll just have to wait till we get up there :teeth: i hope im going up high and not down low

No, didn't miss it at all. I wasn't addressing Rummy... Maybe he can't get into heaven either.

And, yes, I think George could go to heaven.
So Rummy, George's right hand man, may not get into Heaven, but George probably can? hmmmmmmm interesting :rolleyes1

The people that Sadam killed, who did not believe in your God, will therefore be going to hell, correct? If I'm wrong, please educate me.

The God of the Bible can & will forgive ANYONE who is truly repentant. Moses & David were both murderers. I can't speculate on the others you speak of.

Did I say "probably?..... I think not. All I know is that I would never want to have to make the tough decisons ANY president has to make. And, for the record, I am not a W. backer. You try being president and let me know if it is easy.

What about the babies he killed who didn't have the capacity to understand that they needed to be forgiven? So, Saddam says "Oh, I'm so sorry--please forgive me" and gets to forever live in peace? There's something wrong with a God that would sent the innocent babies to hell and let Saddam live eternity in his happy place.

So, perhaps Sadaam should be absolved because being the leader of Iraq is not "easy".

Who said God sends babies to hell? Not me. You did. Babies/youngsters aren't mature enough to understand this concept. God knows the heart.

Matthew 19

14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Job 37

4 After that comes the sound of his roar;
he thunders with his majestic voice.
When his voice resounds,
he holds nothing back.

5 God's voice thunders in marvelous ways;
he does great things beyond our understanding.

Certainly, SH was/is an awful, despicable animal. But, God's love, manifested in Jesus, is bigger than ALL our sins. The OP asked if it was POSSIBLE. According to the Bible, the answer is yes.

I'm sure there might be some branches of Christianity who would say such a thing. I don't know of anybody in my particular Church (United Methodist) who believes innocent babies are sent away from Heaven.

The people that Sadam killed, who did not believe in your God, will therefore be going to hell, correct? If I'm wrong, please educate me.

Again I can't educate you other than tell you what I personally believe to be true. I don't believe God punishes those who were never exposed to Christian Bible for their lack of knowledge concerning Christianity. I personally believe that Hell probably exists, but I don't think God is gleefully standing by the door looking for reasons to send good people there. As a general rule, God loves people.

What aboutTHE BABIES that our own government dropped bombs on in Baghdad during our, oh so tough, "Shock and Awe"? You remember before we were liberating them, we were just slaughtering them. Remember? Remember WMD? Remember Bin Laden? Does God not love Iraqi babies? What God do you worship? Not the same one as me. My God values every human and animal, not just convenient ones.

You keep trying. I admire your tenacity. If you are going to disagree with me, then disagree with me, not what you want to portray to make your point of view known, I love when people go out of their way to disregard the intent of a post just to make their point.

War is different than genocide of your own people. If you don't agree with that, then we have no basis for talk. Now, I do see and agree that not all wars are necessary.

In any case, the question was about Saddam, not W.

Plus, I realize that war is NEVER acceptable to some people. Sounds like that "might" be you. To me it is acceptable. Not preferrable, but acceptable.

IA with the first half of this statement.

Good question. I am undecided--haven't been educated enough to make an informed decision, although I know that I don't worship one that would allow Saddam into Heaven.

Toby'sFriend has been the most helpful trying to make me understand. Your point about there being different branches makes sense--I had unfairly lumped all Christians into one group whose God chooses to send babies to hell. Good point, too, about Him gleefully waiting to send people to Hell. In the same light, I cannot comprehend that He would so willingly accept Saddam into Heaven.

jimmij--you can quote your bible, but I believe this book is a work of fiction, so your references don't help me. Sorry.

I can't think of any denomination of Christianity that thinks babies die and go to Hell.
God doesn't send people to Hell. People make choices. If it weren't for God being such a loving God, and he was "gleefully waited to send people to Hell", we wouldn't be here now. He would have given us what we deserved and been done with us. Thankfully that isn't the kind of God we have.

You may think Jimmiej's Bible is fiction and that is your right, but where the heck do you think Toby's Friend gets her answers? Pulls them out of her hat? Good grief.

The opportunity for Saddam to enter Heaven when he dies is a choice he has made or will make. His heart may be so much turned to stone that he will never see the wrong that he has done. Or, he may. Only God will know his heart when he dies. God's son Jesus Christ died for every sin.

I was quoting God's Word to show you what I believe & why. If you believe the Bible is "fiction", then we're at polar opposites. Hope you find the answer to "life's questions." :wave2:

Can Saddam go to Heavan? Yes.
Will Saddam Go to Heavan? Thats between him and God. Its not mine to judge.

I don't know what you may have done that is so terrible, but I sure haven't done anything terrible enough to "deserve" to be "done with".

She doesn't present it as from the bible. If you read what she wrote, she indicated it was her personal belief. You are right that she likely relies on the bible for guidance, but she also recognizes that not every religion interprets the same book in the same manner.

Try again, batman!

We are on polar opposites, and I am finding the answer to "life's questions." If I wasn't, would you pray for me? :rotfl2:

Did you read my earlier post? King David was a MURDERER. Yet God said of him, "He is a man after my own heart." He was truly repentant & God forgave him. Moses was a MURDERER, yet God used him in a mighty way. To God, sin is sin. According to Him, we're all sinners.
