Can resale buy direct as existing owners?

So I’m in the process of getting my account established with 325 resale points. Moving forward, I’m thinking about just racking on the smaller amounts that existing owners are allowed to purchase direct. I plan to work toward my blue card, but even if I don’t get there, it allows me to book at future resorts, and, the way I look at it, small contracts are so overpriced (compared to larger resale contracts) that I feel it’s almost worth it to buy direct.

That leads me to four questions:

1) Can I buy direct under my existing resale member number at the small increments allowed for existing members?

2) If I chip away at it (ex. 50 point contract here, 25 point contract there) is the combined total still considered for my blue card (as long as I meet the limit at the time I cross the threshold)?

3) Can I mix and match direct contracts to get to the 125 for a blue card (ex. 75 at VGF, 59 at OKW)?

4) Does anyone know how I calculate the direct transaction fee Disney charges? This may dictate where I buy and how much I buy at a given time.

Thanks for the help, Disney Friends!!!

1) yes
2) yes - though I did read someone recently was told no, but their written policy says it is "accumulated" points that qualify
3) yes
4) Best to just get a guide and ask. I've seen people report widely varied closing costs. Right not I believe they are charging $200-$250 as a doc or origin fee or something. They never used to and then once started they keep raising it. Savings on closing used to be what pushed small contracts into "no brainer" territory for direct purchase. Now you really have to consider all the factors.

Yes, you can add on at any of the resorts once you have your membership number and it’s all set up.

Assuming the same owners and UY, it will go into the same one. The direct points will be the only ones valid at RIV and future resorts. Buying those wont make the resale points you are buying become unrestricted...just in case you thought it might.

Yes, you will become blue card eligible once you own direct points that meet the minimum. It’s currently at 125 so if you don’t reach that and It goes up, you would now need to reach the new minimum. What they do not allow is people to combine different resorts to get to a certain level for incentives of purchase price.

The standard fee is $225 currently for documents preparation. You will also have closing costs that have to do with tax stamps and title and those vary. It cost me about $675 for my 175 points at RIV in 2019.

Smaller contracts will be less but I’d assume around $400, give or take, for contracts under 100 points.
