Can park tickets be picked up before arrival date w/FD pkg?

She's not wrong. Guest Relations has to get an approval code from DRC to do this. Those approval codes will no longer be issued.

Your informations is incorrect. Guest Relations can still do Early Ticket Pickup just as they have been for years.

That is a completely ridiculous suggestion, who wants to hang out by the pool on the first day being at Disneyworld?

I certainly do; the first day I arrive is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I stay for 8 days. Saturday is still packed in the parks.

I would rather get there a day earlier; enjoy just hanging around the resort since I am tired from traveling, and get a fresh start on Sunday as everyone is leaving.

In the evening, I head over to DTD and sit at the bar at RFC and watch a college football game. It is a great way to start my vacation.

It's not my way but a lot of people do just that. Some of them want to relax after a long flight or maybe they arrived late morning or early afternoon and don't want to use their tickets for a partial day. Some don't have park tickets for every day they're there so they use that first day to get acclimated. I'm sure there are other reasons. It's really not ridiculous at all.

This is the DRC's scripted reply to anyone who is upset they have to do a split reservation to get the free dining plan and can't pickup their park tix a day early. It is a ridiculous suggestion and does nothing to make their scripted response any more palatable.

Yep some ppl may get in a day or two early and want to lounge. However there are some of us who want to hit the parks as soon as we land and Disney is making that very difficult.

I'm still confused-is there a definite repsonse to this question or will we not know until someone actually trys to pick up tickets?

Not that this has an impact on me, because I own DVC, but from everything that I have read, it may be something that could be changing in the future.

As of right now, things are the same as always--they are still allowing people to pick up package tickets early at a GR location at the parks. CM's who work in that area have said they have not gotten anything official stating it is changing.

So, anyone planning this should know that even if it is a policy today, it could be different tomorrow and be prepared that WDW can and does change things without much notice at all.

DVC members got free valet parking for awhile and then it changed overnight. There were literally DVC members who valet parked at night and went to pick up the car the next day and told it wasn't free.

So, just be prepared in case things change from today until the day you get there.

I would be a bit surprised if Disney suddenly didn't allow you to purchase tickets for the length of your stay; even if it is a split stay with room only and then package deal in order to get free dining.

It is money in their pocket, no matter how many days you choose to go to the parks.
