Just curious if you think kids have a better 'vision' or 'sense' about them to see ghosts? I've heard it in movies...and have seen it on that stupid freaky ghost hunters show...
and....I'm actually kinda concerned that maybe its true??

I think children are sensitive to spirits. I know as a child I would always see angels. Sure wish I could see them now.

I dont think every kid sees them. I do have to wonder though if some kids do. As well as adults. There is just too much evidence out there. I would probably be scared outta my mind if one of my kids said they saw something.

I do wish one of my kids was psychic though, so they could give me the lottery numbers :rotfl2:

YES! We live in a 120 year old house and when my son was 3 he woke up from a nap and asked 'who is that man in the wall?' I didn't think to much about it until a few days later when he said the man was back. I asked him what man? he said 'the one in the wall... he's in a circle and he can't get out.' pointing to the same wall as before. I asked him what the man was wearing and he said 'White, all white' WHAT DID HE SEE?:scared1: We have had other issues in this house too....... :scared1:  :scared1:

Yeah...thats why I am kinda freaked...cuz my youngest DD has mentioned it a couple times now...
Lemme make a short story to why I ask..

The house we moved in to belongs to a lady who's husband passed away last yr (young..34). She said he didnt' die in the house....doesn't really matter to me. It was a heart attack. Anyways... Our first night here, my DD7 is coming down the stairs and screams in sheer terror I've never seen that she saw a black and white figure move in the bedroom. The fear in her voice got us all edgy. She 'saw' it twice. I took it as being VERY overtired...and the adjusting to a new place (we all get freaked out our first night somewhere...right??)

Then...a couple nights later, my DS (3 months) is in his swing...stares directly above my oldest DDs head at the wall and makes a terrified face and cries. My oldest DD was so upset, she explained it like he saw something behind her that terrified him.

I've pretty much put that all passed me. Now, last week, my DD7 was out riding the lawnmower with my fiance' when she says she saw a 'man' in the yard wiht blue jeans and a red striped shirt only a few feet in front of her, then he disappeared. She didn't seem to freaked, but was kinda wondering where he 'went'. So...I've been thinkin about this since then..
THEN...the other night...I was out on the deck wiht my fiance and heard a noise in the house (all kids were gone).. I went in to look and went back out telling him I heard something. He makes the comment "Yeah...I heard ghosts walkin on the stairs all day"...

So....I'm freaking myself out by typing this... Like, admitting the fear out loud will make it come to fruition...
But..my take is this... If...by some chance...there IS an issue, I think its not a hostile environment, or we would've known by now. I obviously believe in the possibility...but without asking my daughter outright..I"m concerned she really has seen 'something' ????

Ugh.... I can't handle this!!! :scared1:

It has been explained to me that kids tend to see and hear spirits more than adults because they are not "jaded." In other words, they are innocent to it. As adults we grow up thinking that there is no such thing. Kids don't know that. If they are told that, they don't always believe it. I think kids are more in tune with it.

If your child did see a ghost. Tell your child to tell the ghost to go the white light and to God. This will help the ghost to cross over to the other side. I was kid that see dead people and ghost all the time and still do. Now I am not afraid as much like use be.

My DH gets freaked by the stuff around here, It doesn't really bother me. We are only the 3rd owners of this house, it was built in 1890, so way back then I would think someone may have died here. I just recently found out that a wife of the man that lived here freaked out during an argument and gutted the kitchen, destroyed cupboards and all. She died by getting hit by a gravel truck. I personally am more interested in finding the Mason jar with the money in it !!!!!

My son, when he was 2, was in bed with Dh and I one night. He sat up and stared at our bedroom door for the longest time.

Then he smiled and waved.

Yeah...see...I"m officially freaked...

LOL

:sad2: No, I really, really don't think kids see ghosts and it's sad that parents "feed" these childhood fantasies. People are watching too much tv and allowing their imaginations to run wild.

You guys are creeping me out! And making me thankful that I havent dealt with this issue. I guess I would say that I obviously believe in the paranormal. I have been intrigued since I was little by my grandmothers ghost stories. She used to see the ghost of her daughter. I have always been intrigued, but scared to death. I actually made her promise me that she wouldnt haunt me when she died lol.
Obviously a child just wouldnt make that up, especially in that detail. I have heard the theory also about the innocence of a child. Its good though that you arent one of those parents that is taking the kid to the shrink and making them feel weird about themselved.

My heart goes out to you that your kids are involved... especially when its a situation that is out of your control.
Geez.... I get freaked out when one of the animals stares off into space for no reason lol.

Best of luck to you guys.

I'm not feeding ANYTHING!!! LOL
I haven't even really brought it up. I let her say what she thought...I told her she was seeing this (being tired.....light tricks etc)
I'm asking opinions away from her!!!
But...I obviuosly do believe in ghosts although I've never seen one (and hope to keep it that way!!!!). I've heard too many stories from people I trust not to!!

There was no "feeding " at my house. Believe me. I was careful not to scare him or lead him into it. Oh, geez, I gotta go Ghost Hunters is on!!!:rotfl2:

Yeah...I've seen that show all of twice recently.... it creeps me out.. LOL

My son was almost 3 when he saw my mom in my dad's house. He didn't think anything of it--just mentioned to me that she gave him a kiss and told him she loved him. He described her as having on a white costume. Even called her "my Baba" which, had she been alive, is what she would have gone by--but not a term I ever used for her when I showed him pictures or talked about her. She died 3 yrs before he was born. He said other DS was awake and saw her, too. Asked him seperately if anything strange had happened, (he was 5) and he said he saw her, and said "it sounded really windy, but nothing was moving". He said she had on a white cloak.
