We have a room only cause we are season pass holders we dont get the dining plan but we have alot of family coming this time that book a lot of sit downs. My question is can i add a dining plan at check in?

Why a dining plan? Depending on where and what you eat it may not save any money.

Three days in advance is what you need to order and pay for the dining plan. You can add the dining plan onto a room only if you are an AP holder.

If you want you can always pay for your dinning with Disney Gift cards..

Lots of Dis board members are always dreaming up ways to get them cheaper then face value.

Like 5% off at target, couple dollars off at Sam's Club, Some grocery stores in some states do fuel rewards for purchasing Gift cards.

That's not accurate.

There are ticketless packages for the average guest which is just a room and dining.

As an AP holder you can purchase Tables in Wonderland which gives you a 20% discount at most table services and even some CS. Its good for parties up to 10 people.

We are going in about 30 days, I'm also an AP holder. I was told when we secured the reservation that we could add dining up to 3 days before our check-in. Are you saying that's not true? Sorry, aaarcher I'm confused.

No that's true. I was commenting to a different poster that said you can only add dining without tickets if you're AP.

I'd definitely check out the TIW card though if you haven't already.

Do the Tables in Wonderland, I highly recommend it.

1. It's around $100 for passholders, and you can purchase it in the parks. It's good for 365 days.
2. It actually gets you more discounts (and better ones) than the passholder discount does at some times. Ex: I got discounted at POR in their food court! Had no idea I could! Nearly every place at AK takes TiW - even the QS places!
3. With dining place, you have to eat a lot of food to make it count. Sometimes you even have meals/snacks left over. This way you don't have stuff wasted, and you can choose where you eat, not worry about how many credits, etc.

We always have room-onlys at Shades of Green, and TiW has served our family very well, and more that paid for it's discount. I really like it.

Here's where my failure to use punctuation bites me in the patootie, lol.

There should be a comma after only. It's not to imply you cannot add dining if you don't have AP, just that you can if you do.

Actually the TIW card is good for more than 365 days. Its good until the end of the 13th month.

I got mine Feb 16, 2015, its good until March 31, 2016

You cannot add the dining plan to a room only reservation, but if you have an AP or are booking the room with a military rate, you can book a ticketless package that includes a paid dining plan. Room only and packages have very different rules. With a room only reservation, the deposit is equal to one night's room rate and the remainder is due on the day you arrive and you can cancel up to 5 days in advance without penalty. A package has very different rules - $200 deposit, the balance is due 45 days before arrival and there are change fees and a cancellation penalty for modifications/cancellation made within 45 days of arrival.

If you have a room only reservation and want to add the dining plan, the room only res will have to be cancelled, the deposit refunded and a package reservation booked with a new deposit to be paid. If you already have a ticketless package, the dining plan can be added up to 3 days before arrival date.

Starting last year, anyone could book a ticketless package, but it has to be done on the phone and not online.
